Solution: I created a flyer using geometric shapes in colors that are off primary. Since the organization is focused on fun activities, I was inspired by the clean yet dynamic qualities of museum graphics such as that found in SFMOMA’s visual identity. The geometric shapes and colors direct the eye and frame the information. The white space creates an openness that represents the open sharing of ideas. 

Solution: Since the photo was the main element of the design, I arranged the text around the shape of the vase. To keep the design cohesive, I pulled colors from the photo. I reserved the brightest color for “Ben Carter” in order to make the name stand out the most. 

Solution: I drew an owl to represent the school mascot with a friendly expression. The rounded orange shape represents trees with orange leaves to evoke the feeling of fall. Blue was chosen for the sky. The complementary colors of the blue and orange add energy to the design. The tilted placement of the owl helps frame the information and adds movement. 

Solution: I created an owl playing in a pile of leaves to convey the happy feeling of jumping into Fall. Since Fall is the first quarter of the school year, I wanted to incorporate movement and energy into the design to motivate students and staff to be excited for the start of the quarter. I used warm colors to match the fall color scheme. The poster was printed at approximately 3 ft by 4 ft and laminated. As the creative director of the window display, I also worked with my coworkers to create cut-out leaves to hang downwards around the poster like falling leaves. This resulted in a friendly, inviting storefront. 

Solution: I created stationery that would incorporate the soft color scheme and lines from the logo. While the brand is clean and modern, the company is still a nature and plant company. The paper used will be recycled paper with speckles to give an earthy, natural look while the lines and colors will create a modern contrast. 

Solution: The logo showcases a succulent inside a geometric vessel. I chose a soft color gradient to represent the beauty in the color of succulents. The gray lines frame the plant and add a modern, clean feel. 

Solution: I created a simple, modern design to clearly present the event details. The design focused primarily on typography and layout to create a clean look for a formal event. Per the client’s request, I incorporated the official college red and yellow colors in the lines that extend downwards like the tassel. 

Solution: I created a cute logo featuring a muffin held out by baking mitts. Since the company delivers baking kits, the logo features a smiling muffin being held towards the customer. I chose a red color for the the muffin liner since red is passionate, eye-catching, and appetite-stimulating. Blue is a calming color that represents the company’s goal of bringing stress-free baking to customers. A typewriter font and mute colors were used to evoke the old-time, retro feel that comes from home baking. The overall feeling of the logo is happy and friendly to represent the company name. 

Solution: I wanted the packaging to match the whimsical, fun nature of the brand. Along the sides of the box, I placed mitts where the customer will likely place their hands when carrying the box. This also mirrors the cradling of the muffin in the logo. Sprinkles are scaled at different sizes to be more dynamic. I incorporated them in the tape and side of the box. The interior flap of the box displays the company slogan and has a oven mitt sleeve where the recipe resides. The packaging of the actual ingredients is modern to reflect the modern style of baking with delivered kits. It is also minimalistic for clarity and emphasis on the ingredients. The measurements will be written on the packaging with the ingredient name in the color scheme of the sprinkles. 

Solution: I created designs that would clearly display the logo. I accented areas with the spinkles motif to create a fun, whimsical feel to the stationery. A cream and brown color scheme was used since they are the color of dough and match the “before and after” colors of baking. The texture in the brown paper also adds a homemade touch.

Solution: I incorporated two colors from the brand’s color theme in the apparel design. The t-shirts and caps will be worn by employee members, especially the delivery team. I placed the logo on the front of the apparel for immediate brand recognition, while the slogan can be seen on the back as the secondary reinforcer of the brand. I dispersed sprinkles on the bottom of the vehicle for an eye-catching, fun effect that also creates a sense of movement. The yellow and blue color scheme was used again to match the apparel. Both apparel and vehicle designs were mocked up in Adobe Illustrator.

Solution: The folded format of the menu makes it easy to slip the menu inside packaging boxes. The front is minimalistic, showcasing the recurring “sprinkle” element. The interior displays different kit options in a clean format. The simple illustrations act as icons for the different sections and add a fun feeling to the design. The illustrations were drawn in Adobe Illustrator, while the menu was laid out in InDesign. 

Solution: The webpages are designed to be simple and intuitive to use. Hovering the mouse over images will darken the photo to indicate photo links. I used a wood texture to evoke the feeling of a wooden table and the homemade aspect of the product. Since the brand is fun and whimsical, the “How a Kit” works section will feature small animations as the user scrolls down. 

Solution: I designed a flyer with a simple, yet energetic color scheme to match the energy of the jumping students in the photo. I included some brush strokes to direct the eye to the headline at the top of the flyer. The green triangle then leads the eye to the other information. 

Solution: I created an illustration of San Francisco linking with Seoul to represent KPOP-TV’s mission to link English-speaking audiences with Korean pop music (K-pop) and entertainment. Since KPOP-TV is based in San Francisco, I extracted the San Francisco cityscape and placed it in the “Company Information” page. For the page explaining the channel’s programs, I placed an image of the linking bridges, since KPOP-TV plays locally produced segments as well as shows recorded in Korea. I used a simple color scheme of bright, pop colors to represent the company’s primary focus on K-pop music. The overall result is an effective, eye-catching media kit that can serve as professional business document as well as represent the ideals of the company. 

Solution: Using a cloud brush created by Studio Caro, I created a dreamy sky background to promote KPOP-TV’s giveaway of a Fly to the Sky album. I positioned the clouds to frame the title and included a drawing of a paper plane to direct the viewer’s eye towards the paragraph at the top of the graphic.
