Helsinki, Finland’s hardcore/punk squad, KOHTI TUHOA, returns with the by-the-throat second LP, Pelon Neljäs Valtakunta. With two tracks now available for early streaming, the new album will see North American release through Southern Lord in November, with Svart handling the European release.

KOHTI TUHOA’s 2015-issued debut LP, Rutiinin Orja,was considered by many as the most exciting hardcore punk record out of Scandinavia in ages. Their sophomore album Pelon Neljäs Valtakunta is constructed from similar building blocks of aggression based at sociopolitical injustice, but with the band’s sound taking a step further towards genre classicists such as Discharge and Disorder, not to mention classic Finnish hardcore punk acts such as Terveet Kädet, Varaus, and Riistetyt.

Recorded in May 2017 at V.R. Studio in Turku, Finland, Pelon Neljäs Valtakunta was engineered by Jussi Vuola, mixed by Jussi Vuola and KOHTI TUHOA, mastered and cut by Jukka Sarapää at Timmion Cutting, and finalized with artwork by returning artist Jaakko Karjula. The album crushes twelve relentless tracks in twenty minutes, including a cover of “Saatanan Lampaat” by Painajainen.

The unconventional release between punk band Zex and one of music biggest stars

The split which came about due to a mistake in a pressing plant which was pressing both Beyonces Lemonade 2xLP and Zex Uphiĺl Battle LP. The A-side of Lemonade was accidently pressed using the A-Side of Uphill Battle

The split is up on Discogs for over 1000 euro but be smart and wait till the Zex Uphill Battle record is pressed which will hopefully have the B-side of Lemonade for all you Zex and Beyonce fans.

News of a new Martyrdöd LP as they announce the signing with Century Media Records

It was something we had eluded to recently when breaking the news of Martyrdöd announcing Tim had joined the band.

“Swedish metal crust punks MARTYRDÖD have signed a three-album deal with Century Media Records for the world excluding North-America. MARTYRDÖD, founded in Stockholm in 2001, have gained a strong following in the crust, punk and metal scenes worldwide with the release of six studio albums. Especially the band’s latest studio albums, “Elddop” (2014) and “List” (2016), have stirred up the extreme music scene massively, showing a new side of MARTYRDÖD by entwining more wicked melodies into the metal-induced crust songs. Influenced by acts like Wolfpack, At The Gates, Anti Cimex, Totalitär and Bathory, MARTYRDÖD is not your typical crust band, covering a far wider range of styles without ever losing focus on their roots. MARTYRDÖD are currently in the process of writing new material for the successor of “List”, which is roughly scheduled for a release in the second half of 2018. More news to follow in the upcoming months. After the announcement of the Converge new two track EP last month, out in September, the highly anticipated new Converge album has been announced with a new track accompanying the announcement

‘The Dusk In Us’ which was recorded earlier this year by guitarist Kurt Ballou at his own GodCity studio in Massachusetts, will hit streets on November 3 via Epitaph Records. Track listing can be viewed below. There will be a number of addition of the release on different coloured vinyl coming out with a number of which already sold out. POZOGA new intense punk coming out of Ireland but is an international consortium of punks who have unleashed a couple of tracks to rake across your ears.

The word is they will have a 7″ out later this year which will feature a cover of Spanish from the eighties called RIP titled ‘No Hay Futuro’ and their own track ‘Gone to the dogs…’ which you can listen to below:

Martyrdöd have announced Tim as their new bassist and shows in Europe and have hinted at what I can only presume is the follow up to their 2016 LP ‘List’

Posting on Facebook Martyrdöd said they have great news and more käng which sounds to me like a new record and I am sure Tim wants to make his mark on Martyrdöd‘s discography.

Posting on Facebook Martyrdöd: “Announcing for all to know. Our bass player Fredrik left the band a while back to focus on family and other projects. We had an awesome couple of years with him at the low end and wish him all the best. We quickly found a new member in Tim who made his first show with the band just the other day. Welcome Tim!!! Martyrdöd will play a few shows in Europe in the near future and we also have other great news to announce shortly. Stay tuned for more käng!”

Shades Of Grey have released a new track titled ‘Nothing Left’ as part of Punk For Rojava benefit.

The new track which, is a previously unreleased track by Shades Of Grey, that was recorded during the Freedom/Incarceration studio sessions in 2009. ‘Nothing Left’ has been released as part of Punks For Rojava which also saw the 7″ release In Solidarity With Rojava – MARTYRDÖD / ADRESTIA split 7″ a few months ago.   Warwound have released a lyric video for a brand new song from their forthcoming LP, ‘Burning The Blindfolds Of Bigots’ due out on Unrest Records in June. This will be their fist full length LP having previously done releases with the above mention War/Plague and a demo way back in 1983 but with a new line up of Damian Thompson now on guitar and Rat Varuker on vocal, Ian Glasper on bass and Steve Wingrove on drums this impressive line up makes this fothcoming album very interesting.

      Exhaustion from France, taking influences from both sides of the Atlantic deliver an unforgiving hardcore assault.   Disfear’s Misanthropic Generation LP has been repressed by La Familia Records, Those not familiar with Disfear should be ashamed of themselves – you probably have been hiding under a rock for more than 25 years. Swedish hardcore in its purest form, “Misanthropic Generation” is a maturation, modernization and perfection of Discharge’s music from back in the ’80s. With a blazing pace, Entombed-ish guitar/bass riffing meeting the banshee vocalism of Tomas, supported by wickedly groovy Motorhead-style drumming – masturbation for the mind, one might call it. There´s a small amount of the yellow/black marbled vinyl availble.
