“…In what sort of place do you live where 5 million is by any means a tiny sum of money?” (And can I live there? I’d very much appreciate getting a bigger income, you know!)

“W-What?!” Phoenix flinches at her sudden comment. (What the hell is this, you trying to make me sound like the bad guy now?!)

“B-By that I mean…” He clears his throat and tries considering his next words in a way that they won’t be again distorted in such a ridiculous manner. “That all life is precious, no matter which real or fantasy race you’re talking about.” (Although I’ll admit, it’s far too easy to believe that someone like you is a demon.) “Besides, who can assure you that they don’t have a demon specialized police here?!”

“Now we are just a ‘fantasy race’? So now you don’t even consider me real? Such rudeness, a close-minded human like you is barely even worthy of becoming a servant.”

Her hands moved to her hips as she took a deep breath. Seraphina knew humans were pretty racist against her kind, to the point they would even try to send ‘heroes’ to try to kill them, but seeing it first hand was kinda pissing her off.

   “…I do not like you.”

Though it was a statement, it also sounded almost like a decision on Dettlaff’s part, one he had to think about before finally coming to. He had no true gripe against monsters, not even those of the demonic variety, such as succubi or chorts. Monsters were honest, direct. 

This girl, though…something about her unsettled him.

Though he remained in human form, his piercing blue eyes stared at her, unblinking, even as his nose scrunched slightly in distaste. She smelled unnatural. Less like blood and dirt and more like things he could not explain.

   “If you are a monster, act like one. Your eyes speak of too much deceit.”

“Rude.”

Seraphina didn’t really care much if someone did not like her, especially if they were a male. She could just change that sentiment in a single gaze. But for someone to be so forward about it, especially a stranger? Yeah, she was not gonna take that very well.

“We have more important things to worry about than your beach body, Archer.” Besides, like hell was she springing for a bathing suit for her Servant.
