âYeah. Surprisingly it does.â Her words are not much more than an agreement, the arm that had been drawn in front of her to keep her from moving withdrawn. Sheâs kept an eye on their surroundings (par for the course of an assassin) even if her senses are a bit dulled because of the water and other factors. At the very least sheâs been trying, so thereâs that. She hasnât spared that much of a glance at her âpartnerâ of sorts, considering he hasnât done the same. But he does raise a good point - they should get moving soon, before they wake up again, and it will be the easiest opening they get for a while. Might as well take advantage of it. âWe probably should get moving soon. Iâd rather not be here when they wake up. And I donât think either of us want to stay around here longer than we have to.â
âItâs more than likely weâll still have obstacles to deal with. So we both better get ready to attack, defend or whatever we have to do to get through this alive. Just watch my back and Iâll watch yours okay?â
Sheâs to the point. Good; they donât have time for pointless chatter, and he has no desire to talk any more than is necessary. Guard is still on edge, of course, little can be done about that, but all things considered, thatâs probably for the best: given that they donât know when something might wake up, itâs better to be prepared for that eventuality. Heâs ( secretly ) relieved to see that sheâs in agreement, thoughâ while he might not have any particular grievances on leaving someone behind due to conflicting interests, it also wouldnât rest well on his mind with the current situation in mind. Besides, itâs easier to put his pride aside knowing that this is an arrangement that mutually benefits both of them. âAbsolutely not.â He murmurs, something of an agreement, something else that might be almost offended by the notion of sticking around danger.
âRight. Just focus on getting through this, and weâll have no issues.â A pause, taking a moment to properly glance at her. âI trust you can defend yourself just fine...?â Itâs not out of disbelief, thatâs hardly the thought that crosses his mind; itâs moreso just him double-checking since heâs not quite sure of her skill set, even if she seems like she might be able to handle herself ( he can extend himself a little further if necessary, honestly; again, heâd at least like to be aware if thatâs the case ).
