it becomes a pit where your fears take over

anxiety floods

depression pours

the mind can betray you

the brain is complex

chemical after chemical

but no one teaches you what to do

when your chemicals are imbalanced

when your mind wants to turn off

and never turn back on

when your mind tells you

that’ll you never be good enough

when your mind cries

that it wants out

no one teaches you how

to love yourself

when your brain screams

out its venomous words

the mind wanders into a place

that feels as if there’s no escape

a place that feels as if

the walls are caving in

when will we learn

that our minds can be beautiful

when will we learn

we need help

when will we learn

how to love each other

enough to save us from our own minds
