I get similar messages like these often, but rarely do they make cry as much as this one did. When I worked at that #camp, I wasn't there in any capacity as a #transgender or #queer #educator. I was just part of the #JewishSpirituality team, trying to teach the kids a form of #progressive, #liberal, contemporary #Judaism, in a fun way. However, I was openly trans, I was visibly and vocally queer, #OutandProud. These are the results! Way too often people tell us "to just move on." Be queer, fine, but why scream it? in fact just a few minutes ago, someone made that exact argument on my latest post on my public Facebook page - check it out and see yourself. This courages young individual is one out of the thousands and millions of reason why we have to talk, why we have to scream, why we will #RefuseToShutup. And now, #HappyPride indeed 🏳️‍🌈
