Milo picked up his glass and took a long drink. Anyone who knew Milo knew he didn’t drink unless he was upset. “…Axel’s gone,” he mumbled, looking towards him with pained eyes. “Gone… And it’s because of me,” He laughed tiredly, his voice drained and in pain that he couldn’t correctly express.
"Wait, what?" Marcus sucked in a deep breath, his eyes going wide. No. No. Axel couldn't be gone — he just... He just couldn't! Marcus felt his lower lip tremble and his eyes swell up with tears. No wonder he hadn't seen him around the last couple of days. And to think, their last interaction was... Jesus, Axel had locked Marcus in a cage, and Marcus had detested him for it. He no longer felt the same, but still — those were their last moments together. "Oh- Oh my god." Marcus felt sick. Gripping onto Milo's shoulder, he struggled to stand. He felt like his legs were going to give out at any second.
Milo pursed his lips and looked down to his drink before blindly reaching out and searching for his friend’s hand. Once he found it, he intertwined their fingers and tugged him a bit closer to his side, seeking out comfort silently. “Hi,” He mumbled.
Marcus couldn't help the butterflies that fluttered in his stomach when Milo grabbed his hand, but knew that it wasn't the time to act on his feelings. Milo looked visibly upset — he sounded upset — and Marcus needed to be there for him as a friend, not a boyfriend. Setting his hand on Milo's arm, he looked down at the drink on the countertop. "What happened?" He asked slowly, wary, unsure of which side of Milo he was going to get today.
"Look. I just want a drink. Leave me alone."
Marcus had meant to say hello to Milo when he heard the unfriendliness in his voice. Frowning, he stopped in mid-walk and stared, his mouth falling open just a bit. "O-Oh." He said plainly, unable to hide the disappointment from his expression. "I can... We can talk later..."
Break the Ice // Marcus & Ethan
"Explain it to me. I’ll understand then." He smirked as he watched the other male. He couldn’t help but notice the way Marcus kept looking at him and it amused him so much. Ethan could have a little fun with this, even if it shouldn’t go anywhere. There was no harm in some playing with the male, teasing him a bit. After all the awkward ones were always the most fun. They could blush from the simplest slip of the tongue. Clearly, considering he already had Marcus blushing.
"Why don’t you tell me what you’re thinking. Maybe I can help make it a little less confusing." Ethan’s eyes ran down Marcus’ body, not even trying to hid what he was thinking. The boy was cute. In that awkward boyish way that was so adorable to play with. His eyes went back up to meet the males, noting the smile on Marcus’ lips as he looked at Ethan.
"Happy drunk or not, don’t apologize. I can’t say I’m the best drunk either. I tend to end up places I shouldn’t be when I’m drunk," He laughed leaning in a bit. Ethan finished off his drink, ordering himself another. He could handle more alcohol but he had to still stay sober enough to not do anything stupid. Not with this guy. Tash was one story, Ethan could handle Riley. Milo was completely different especially if he knew Ethan tried anything with Marcus. No matter how much he wanted to.
Marcus chewed on his bottom lip as Ethan ordered another drink, watching with hazed over eyes as the glass was set down in front of him. Looking back over towards his own glass, he frowned at the fact that he didn't have anything to do with his hands for the time being, bunching them in a ball nervously. He supposed that he could pick at some loose threads on his jeans, but with the situation that he was in, it would be awkward now that he had someone actually talking to him. So he sighed and ordered another whiskey, smiling politely when the glass was filled with the amber liquid.
Taking a sip almost as soon as the bartender was done filling it, he could feel his cheeks start to get hot, and this time it wasn't from blushing. It seemed that whiskey worked quicker than he thought — that, or he was extremely lightweight. His mind buzzed, and he looked over at Ethan again, setting the glass down on the bar in front of him. "I'm just alone." He blurted, not fully understanding why he was telling someone he barely knew. He couldn't stop now, though, not when he'd just started. "I hate it. It's so lonely. Milo's always in the fields, and even though I see him a lot, we're both gone most of the time. Axel doesn't like me because I hang out with Milo, and it's so- It's so frustrating."
Marcus pouted, his bottom lip sticking out just the slightest as he turned his puppy dog eyes on Ethan. "I don't know what to do about it, so I just keep to myself most of the time. I don't like making either of them angry... But I can't help my own feelings, either." Sighing heavily, he hung his head — mostly because it felt really heavy. When did it get so hot in the bar? "I just feel so unwanted all the time."

MARCUS CONLEY: A MOODBOARD
I bet you thought that I was soft and sweet You thought an angel swept you off your feet But I'm about to turn up the heat I'm here for your entertainment
Break the Ice // Marcus & Ethan
Ethan watched the other male as he chewed on his bottom lip. Running his tongue over his lips, he smirked. Trailing his finger over the rim of the glass. he listened to the male awkwardly talk. Marcus was a strange person to say the least. Ethan knew he was pretty kept to himself except for the older Kromer. “That’s cool. So did I. Things have been a little hectic lately.”
Running his hand through his hair, Ethan turned away from the bar and leaned back. Watching Marcus from the corner of his eyes as he drank. “Alcohol always helps if you have something on your mind. Although I don’t know about the clear head part,” He said raising his glass. Running his eyes over the other guy, he laughed over the lip of the glass as he tipped it back. He definitely wasn’t too bad looking. He was no straighter than Milo either, Ethan assumed. He didn’t move his eyes from the male. No harm could come from just looking right?
This boy was definitely off limits though. Ethan wasn’t stupid enough to play with something that belonged to one of the brothers. Especially not the older one. His mind went back to how he was pinned against the bar at the party the other night and a chill went up his spine. “So anything on your mind I can help with? It’s always good to talk about it and I’ve been told I’m an amazing listener,” He flirted. Look, don’t touch, the voice in the back of his head reminded him.
Marcus shifted in his seat and glanced over at Ethan, his attitude slowly shifting when it was clear that he was flirting. Smiling softly, he blushed and blinked up at the guy. "Oh, it's- It's nothing." He said quickly, shaking his head a little. He glanced down to look at the shirt Ethan was wearing, following it down until he reached the zipper of the guy's pants. He quickly averted his gaze, knowing that he was coming off as innocent. "I just get these thoughts sometimes that... Well, I don't really expect you to understand."
He was talking about Milo. The feelings that he had for the older Kromer were definitely true, and it astounded even him to know that despite everything going on in his life, he could fall back on Milo and still feel safe. Yet of course — the problem. It was never-ending, and while Marcus was patient, he didn't know if he could hold on any longer. Sighing, he finished the glass of whiskey and felt the burn go down his throat. His mind was feeding him all of these thoughts, ones that weren't free of sin, and as he looked over at Ethan, he couldn't help but smile.
"Sorry. I- I don't think I'm a happy drunk." The apology fell from his lips and he pushed the empty glass away from him, knowing that he'd had enough. The world around him felt good and inviting — Ethan especially — and he figured that there wasn't any harm in talking to the guy. It's not like anything would happen between them — Marcus probably wasn't even remotely attractive enough for Ethan to have an interest.
Milo smiled into the kiss, sliding his hand to the male’s hip and tugging him close against his own body. He chuckled softly and brushed his hand through the man’s hair. As he felt the man’s kiss on his shoulder, he smirked and pressed a kiss to his neck. “I can… handle that for you, if you want,” He mumbled.
Oh. Marcus shivered at the mental image that came after Milo's words, his nails softly pressing into his scalp. "R-Really?" He couldn't believe that Milo was actually offering. He pulled away to look the Amity-born in the eyes, a sparkle in his own eyes telling Milo that he was excited. The rest of his face, however, was of utter disbelief. He couldn't imagine Milo touching him in places where he'd dreamt of — not the real Milo, that was.
Milo smirked a bit and looked into the male’s eyes. Milo had a way with knowing people, inside and out. So, he could see through Marcus. He wasn’t sure what it was he was seeing, but he didn’t care. He loved the male. He was his best friend — the only person outside of his brother who didn’t treat him like a freak. He wanted in. “I like it,” he murmured. “The blush. It brings our your eyes,” He mumbled. He leaned over to him and pressed a soft kiss to his lips. “I’m not taking my medication anymore,” he said softly.
Marcus instantly leaned into the kiss, his hands sneaking into Milo's dark locks. Being with Milo made everything inside of him fill with butterflies and warm feelings. Being with Milo wasn't an act. All of his feelings were real, and nothing would ever be able to change that. Sighing happily, Marcus pulled away from the kiss enough to snuggle into Milo's neck, his entire being jumping for joy. "Good." The word came out airy, light, and for a moment he forgot about the embarrassing problem he had. That was, until he realized just how close their bodies were. He pressed a tiny kiss to Milo's shoulder, his fingers running over the soft hair.

Break the Ice // Marcus & Ethan
Ethan wanted to be alone and drink. He was tired of everyone. He just wanted to take a break for everything. Best way to do that was drink. He surveyed the bar for someone who knew that he could play with. One guy caught his eye, Marcus. Ethan hadn’t particularly talked to the male much but what would it hurt to start now.
Ethan order himself a drink, watching the boy as he sat alone. Turning the glass in his hand, he sighed. Everything with his sister was running through his mind. He didn’t want to see Rose. Not now. Not with everything already going on with her and Ace. So maybe the male could help keep his mind off everything.
He called out to Marcus but got ignored. Running a hand through his hair, Ethan grabbed his drink and started towards the boy. He smirked and sat down beside him. “Hey Kid. What’s up?”
Kid? Marcus was young, yes, but he definitely wasn't that young. He kept the tightness off of his body and blinked over at Ethan, his expression falling into that of surprise. "Oh, hi." He chewed on his bottom lip, and winced. His voice had come out shy and timid, smaller than it normally was. He cleared his throat, and gave the guy a smile instead, trying a different tactic of conversation. "Not much, I just... I just needed to clear my head for a bit."
He laughed, as if the sentence was funny to him, and shook his head. Lifting the glass, he frowned slightly. "I don't usually drink." It was an offhanded comment, and Marcus brushed his bangs away from his face as he looked over at Ethan once more. He couldn't help but take in the appearance of the Dauntless member. Shaggy hair, a deadly smile, and captivating eyes... And that body. He definitely thought that he would look better with clothes off than on.
Shifting his eyes away, he looked at the countertop. He had Milo — if one could consider that a relationship. It was a different sort of relationship, and it all depended on Milo's meds. If he wasn't on them, then they were considered a couple. And if he was? Well, then they were just friends. To say that Marcus was upset by that would be an understatement, but at least he had Milo regardless. Still, there was always that nagging voice in the back of his mind — maybe for once, another person could make it shut up for a bit.
Break the Ice // Marcus & Ethan
Marcus ran a hand through his unruly curly hair, tugging at the strands that caught between his fingers. He was hunched over the bar, one hand on a drink that was half-full. Normally he wasn't one for alcohol, but he'd had a rough couple of days at work, and the only way that he could think of unwinding was immersing himself in the joys of intoxication. Sighing heavily, he took another drink of his whiskey on the rocks.
It was amazing, really, how nobody had managed to notice him until then. He'd heard his name muttered from a guy's lips, but he couldn't place the sound to the name. There was a beat until the guy sat down next to him. Marcus wasn't sure how to respond, but he ignored the other person until he was directly talked to. He had to keep images, of course, and the timid, innocent Marcus would never be the first one to instigate a conversation unless he knew the person.
Clearing his throat, he noticeably shifted in his seat and licked over his lips. He appeared just how he normally would — although his mind was racing. What did this guy want? Marcus had to remind himself not to clench his fists, and to shake off the cold feelings he took another swig of his whiskey.
Milo turned his gaze onto the other male and smiled a bit. “How’s it going, curly?” He hummed, letting himself down.
Curly. Marcus kept the annoyance off of his features and instead blushed, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "I, uh... It's- It's going good. You?" He appeared nonchalant leaning against the wall. These interactions with Milo weren't completely filled with deceit — he actually sort of enjoyed them. A lot more than he probably should have.
"Oh my." Marcus breathed out slowly, unable to take his eyes off of Milo. "Uh, hey, Superman."
"I’m hearing things, right? You didn’t say that."
Marcus paused, worry covering his features. "Wh-What?"

"Oh I’m sorry did I bump you? I don’t really care…."
"Oh." Marcus was a little surprised by the guy's rudeness but got over it quickly. Everyone was rude in some way or another in Dauntless, and maybe this guy was just having a bad day. "No, it was my fault. I should've watched where I was going."
"Hi Marcus, it’s a pleasure to meet you." She said grabbing his hand and shaking it. "I’m Emma and I’m a trainer here in Dauntless. What do you do?"
To say that he was shocked when she shook his hand was an understatement, but he masked the look quickly with another smile. He didn't want this nice woman to think him weird — not when she was being so kind to him. "I'm a worker. I guard the fence." Marcus lifted his chin a little proudly, knowing that what he did wasn't the best since the work wasn't all that great, but it was still a job nonetheless. He was prepared for anything that could happen.
