It’s a relief to have her shoes off, grass and dirt feeling cool and damp beneath her feet. She hates shoes, to be quite frank. Too constricting. Too confining. Her power works best while shoeless, so wearing shoes always felt as though it was a restriction. Sheila’s grateful that Kurt had insisted on seeing the full extent of her powers as it had given her the chance to kick off her shoes and let the feeling of the Earth beneath her soles and between her toes as they move further into the surrounding trees. If she was to show the full range of her abilities, it was probably best to do it away from the buildings. “ Y’right b-back there, mate? ”

Kurt usually goes shoeless. For one reason, his odd feet never fit in shoes, and two, he used them for balance. So as she makes her way in bare feet as easily as he does, he can’t help but smile. He’s worried about her getting splinters, but as she effortlessly walks across the grass and earth, he knew that he didn’t have to worry.

Looking to her he bamfs down from the trees and grins, landing beside her. “Jawol. Just taking time to enjoy some swinging from the trees. I can’t wait to see the full range of what you can do with your amazing powers!”

“I’ve had her for… six years?” Jackie paused and scratched his head carefully so that he wouldn’t spook her and cause an adverse reaction, “Hmmm. At least five, at any rate.” When he was a child, his parents used to have to check their (Alt was not above it, either) pockets several times for a snake or a lizard tucked away - even the rare turtle - when they came home, or else they’d be stashed away to put in a box or two in their room for a few days until his parents inevitably came across the animals in question. “I was always fond of reptiles as a kid. Especially snakes, but I never really stayed in one place for long due to my job, so I didn’t get one ‘til around then. I tried, though - when I was growing up, that is.” He said with a laugh.

The scary thing seemed to have passed, or at least dismissed her presence entirely, and Belle removed her head from her coils to periscope a little to make absolutely sure that that was the case. She gazed and flicked her fork tongue out directly in front of where Jackie was laying and seemed a bit more satisfied that she would be fine… until she caught wind of Kurt’s scent in the air. She froze for a few seconds and seemed to think about whether she should hide again or not before she came to her own conclusion. Belle slithered closer towards Kurt to investigate the new person (and if he would object to being climbed all over, honestly), but not quite out of Jackie’s reach, nor over his arms.

Jackie’s curiosity wasn’t insulting to Kurt at all. With how he looked, he was questions would always arise, and he was more than happy to answer them. Laughing, he shook his head. “Well, I can swim of course! I don’t get fur in the pool. I just have to towel off really well or I...POOF!” He chuckled. “I turn into a big puffball. Don’t worry about being curious. You’re welcome to ask anything you want.”

Listening to him he looked to Belle and smiled. It seemed that in those years, he had a bond with her, and the way she curled close to him was endearing. In his own life he had had small pets; mostly stray cats that he had picked up from the village, or dogs that wondered around the circus tents and caravans looking for scrap food. Of course, Kurt was always the one they went to because they seemed to automatically know he would give them some of his dinner, no matter how much his mother would protest.

Watching Belle come close, he chuckled. “Hallo, sanftes Mädchen,” He said gently enough not to scare her, letting Belle come to him. “She really is a beauty, Jackie.” He wouldn’t mind if Belle climbed over him, and as she came close, he kept still, not wanting to scare her.

Kurt: they don’t need a door…they can… Kurt: Oh no. Kurt: Just..stay there. I’m going to come to you. Kurt: I have a feeling this ‘coming to your rescue’ thing is going to happen a lot with you.

Unfortunately, Sheila cannot reply as Kurt’s messages come through. If she didn’t have little blue devils clinging to her arms and screeching at the top of their little lungs, she would have replied with some witty remark of ‘yeah, probably’. Instead she’s all but knocked off her chair by the little imps as they teleport into the room and practically throw themselves at her. “ Naofa fuck– le do thoil a fháil amach! ”

He didn’t waste any time teleporting to sheila’s room and as he did, he gasped, an expression of annoyance in german leaving his lips. As they throw themselves at her, he catches one by the tail and tosses him away. “Boys! Boys! Behave yoursleves! This is NO way to treat a lady!!”

Tossing more, he growled and soon the bamfs were disappearing in smoke. Looking to Sheila he hand out his hand and chuckled. “Don’t worry, I got you. They didn’t hurt you, did they? I’ve been cleaning up after them most of the day.”

It takes a moment before she lessens her tightened grip upon his arm, yet her arms remain in place around his own. She’s thankful to have the tail still around her waist, just for extra security as they stand atop the precarious ledge. For a moment her silence could have been seen as the lead up to an outburst, but instead… “ Th-that’s… That’s so cool. ” Green eyes are wide as she stares up at him with wonder - the mention of sulphur causing her brows to furrow a bit in surprise. Thanks to an incident between her older brother and herself as a child, her sense of smell had been rather hindered through a broken, now slightly crooked nose. The offending scent of sulphur hadn’t registered within her senses. As Kurt comments on the view she looks away once more, the sun casting what looked like diamonds across the glossy leaves of the far off trees as it slowly finds its way towards the western horizon. “ Y-yeah– th-thank you f-for uh, bamf-ing me up here. ”

He smiles softly as she hangs onto his arm, his tail tightening a little to further secure her. He didn’t want to have her falling off the ledge, even though if that would happen, he would be quick enough to bamf down and catch her before she reached the bottom. As she was quiet for a moment he expected her to burst out screaming at him, but...as she expressed amazement, a wide, fanged grin crossing his face.

“Ja, sehr cool!”

Her amazement comes as refreshing, and as she stares up, her green eyes wide with amazement, he chuckles. Her look of wonder is one he keeps in his mind to remind himself that there are good people out there, and people who are accepting. Looking out over the view, watching the sun lower, he smiles again down at her and squeezes her with his tail lightly.

“You’re welcome. I’m glad you appreciate the view.”
