i do not know the last time i have cried laughing like i am at the city council of darkness finale
Thinking about this tweet big time
Will not get over how in order for us to find out Armand and Daniel had a significant encounter in the 70s we had multiple episodes of Daniel being haunted by flashes of memory + investigative work to retrieve records of that encounter + the reveal being intertwined with the story's main theme of memory unreliability. But something as crucial as Armand being obsessed and in love(!!) with Daniel for decades is revealed to us through... exposition. No subtlety, no build up, no letting the tale seduce me, no correlation with the current themes of the story.

I think it's insane that even in the most leftist and "progressive" spaces the idea of equating morality with looks is alive and present and no one fucking bats an eye at it. like racists and mysoginysts are always portrayed as fat and hairy and generally unkept, as a contrast to the morally good and attractive leftists of course; people will have no problem being genuinely fucking awful about someone's appearance if they're deemed to be a "bad person". and the worst part is you point all of this out and people act like you're reading too much into things like no dude you gotta start using your brain more

RIP Alex Jones who popped like a balloon in his car.
To all the haters who say he's actually still alive, I got my news from a reputable source:
literally announced on infowars. infowars made by alex jones. this is reputable due to the creator being the subject of it. farewell alex jones
RIP Alex Jones
discourse aside the fact that there is now load bearing devils minion lore that takes place in northampton (and amherst) is soooo important to me personally

my attitude towards book!stat is very much "boo fucking hoo i dont care about your problems" but the thing is when you take the story thats presented in the book and say "actually his relationship with his mother is one of those problems, they are not 'no longer mother and son' after she's turned, it is incest and it is abuse" suddenly i actually care a lot. and i think this is partly because this is something where lestat doesn't KNOW he is a victim. everything else is all woe is me everyone abandons me and tells lies about me and i never tried to hurt anyone and anytime i HAVE hurt anyone it has haunted me forever. i hesitate to say he "paints himself as a victim" because i dont like that way of thinking but also because all of that shit DID happen, he WAS a victim in all these ways. anne rice chose to write a story about someone who genuinely has the best intentions pretty much all the time and keeps being hurt by everyone despite also being the most special boy in the world who everyone is obsessed with. and i find that to be a very annoying writing choice (especially because of all the retconning required to do it). and its not like he's clueless either like he is self reflective and self aware about his flaws (to the point that it is very grating) and blames himself for so much of what he has been through, sometimes rightfully so. so when you take something like his relationship with gabrielle, which from what i can recall is only really portrayed as something that hurt him because she eventually left, and say that the relationship ITSELF is the harm and he doesn't even realize it, in fact he sees her as his only solace from all the other people who hurt him. well now we have something to dig into.
