people on twitter who keep posting the stock photo reference image and screencaps of the book to say “look harris isn’t even supposed to be fat why are you mad. this guy isn’t FAT.” are pissing me off so much. like number one don’t play fucking dumb with me you know that guy does not have the same build as justice smith. you know justice smith would never be described as husky or chubby. we wanted the bare minimum of an actor who resembled the stock photo or the cover art. and saying he was never meant to be a bear doesn’t change the fact that they did objectively cast a guy who is much thinner than harris was written as. number two are you sure you don’t see that guy as fat because i’ve seen the way people on twitter were talking about hudson having a Slightly Visible Belly even while being someone who you know damn well is actively working out. so i feel like you don’t mean it when you say you don’t think stock photo guy is fat.

recent epidemic of adaptations that take lots of liberties with the source material and also, separately, are bad. but then if you say "this is bad" you get hit with "you're just being a source material purist and you don't understand the vision"...like. well actually I think it rules when people do new and different things with classic works. I just think these particular new and different things suck ass.
