(I digress.) No matter your denomination, if you trust whole-heartedly, let go and simply follow you will stand in the sun. Yes, there are days that aren't great and are oftentimes really awful. But with those, comes a chance to turn to God, whether it be through friends, family, prayer, preparing a meal, working out. Offer up in thanksgiving that you suffer because that means Jesus is so close to you that He is sharing His suffering with you (paraphrased from St. Mother Teresa bc she's a baddie, let's be real). Remember you are a source of power not only for yourself but for those you touch every day. You are a source of power that fuels the kingdom of heaven. That fuels God, Allah, Abba, Jesus, the Holy Spirit because you are His reflection and creation crafted from His unique mold of love. Don't you EVER forget that.

Can't believe I am starting my career in news at the #1 Central Texas news station in two weeks! Honored and blessed can't describe how I feel. There are so many to thank for helping me grow to this point and I hope to serve the beautiful community I grew up in well. This is for my Grandfather, Nana, Lolo and Lola - the OGs who gave birth to my dreams in another era where a colored woman would never have had this opportunity. #Remembering911 ❤️💙🇺🇸 Fifteen years ago, men, women, and service dogs laid down their lives for the sake of our country and this flag. My Dad was one of the many men and women who were sent to war (again) thereafter. Fast forward fifteen years later to today -- when my family and I got the opportunity to see the New York Giants beat the Dallas Cowboys (Dad called the score btw) at our first NFL game in celebration of my Dad's 50th birthday. Before kickoff, there was a 9/11 commemoration video. It showed the raw devastation of hate. But it also showed the sheer power of love. My Dad isn't one to express his emotions but when that video was playing my sister told me to look beside me -- and there my Dad was with tears in his eyes. The flag unrolled and he said, "It's beautiful." Our lives were changed fifteen years ago and we will #NeverForget everyone passed and present who sacrificed so much.
