I am just. So completely and utterly insane about Rea and Nymh's friendship. A Sith and a Jedi who have each become completely disillusioned with their respective sides and therefore understand each other like no one else can.

Having to work with each other during the fight against Revan and his cultists was eye-opening for both of them. Nymh showed Rea that Jedi can be pragmatic instead of dogmatic, and that they aren't all emotionless automatons like Rea has been taught. Rea showed Nymh that Sith can be honourable, merciful, and reasonable - she even risked her life to save Nymh at one point. That whole experience changed something on a very fundamental level for both of them. So when Rea ended up in carbonite on Zakuul, Nymh left her crew and the Jedi Order and her whole life behind to join Lana in her efforts to rescue Rea, because she couldn't live with the idea of not trying, not after Rea saved her life. Leading the Alliance together gives them both what they wanted the most - a home and a purpose outside of the neverending Republic vs Empire conflict.

Each one of them is really the only one who understands how the other feels about being one of the most renowned warriors in their entire faction, yet being so disgusted by that faction's failures that they really can't stomach going back. Each of them understands like almost nobody else can what being used and abused by the Emperor can do to a person, how intoxicating it is to wield his power, how easy it is to be seduced by it and let it turn you into a monster. Each of them feels deeply conflicted about their place in the galaxy, and having somebody else who feels lost in the exact same way is so deeply meaningful to them both.

I think the time has finally come when I have to hold my nose and start Ossus with Rea. I've never played an Imperial character further than Nathema and I am really, really, REALLY not looking forward to playing her as a saboteur, because everything I've heard about the saboteur storyline is that it's lacklustre at best and I am very afraid that I'm going to end up regretting taking my favourite character down the saboteur route. But I just cannot picture her ever going back to being the Empire's lapdog again. It would feel like a betrayal of the character I've made her into.

So, saboteur it is. Wish me luck.

Jicoln is such a fascinating character because you're just told that he's a Mandalorian exile due to refusing the call of Mandalore (true!) but I don't think you're ever really told that the call he refused was taking up arms and joining the Sith at the battle of Coruscant which is something really interesting to think about... like, well, sure, he refused the call of Mandalore which makes him dar'manda, but it does add a layer of context when you understand that he didn't want to get mixed up in the sith's war and politics.

Here’s one dark side choice I will never, ever, EVER make. I don't get why this is even a choice tbh. What kind of monster would I be to not let him make his recordings. It doesn't even cost me anything. What possible reason would anyone have to not let him do it.

The fact that people don't think friendship is enough to justify characters doing insane acts of love for each other baffles me. Like have you never loved your friend so so much you want to live in their ribcage. Have you never been really weird about a friend.
