Diana's eyes were as wide as her grin as she rifled through some of the DVDs on the shelf. So many things were aging her considerably by now, but sheâd slowly begun to embrace it. This extended to little habits, like her insistence to own beloved films on DVD if she could. There was a fondness for physical media that she knew sheâd always have.Â
Sheâd become so ensnared with the titles on the shelf that she didnât realize she had gotten close to someone until their shoulders bumped. âOh!â Diana chirped, jumping back a little, her doe eyes turning to the other, âI am so so sorry. I think I was just so lost in my browsing that I just kinda forgot my surroundings.â

Elric hummed not sure what to make of the human in front of him. âI see,â he commented. His furniture escapades would have to wait it seemed. Of course, he could just continue on his mission and see if Nik even noticed. âPerhaps, Oh it is nothing. I simply came by to get Nikâs opinion on furniture. Unless youâd like to give your opinion I am fine, although thank you for the offer.â
âIâll try not to waste any more of your time,â Elric gave a smile brushing his hair out of the way. âDo take care, and if you do see Nik please let him know I was looking for him. Iâm updating my furniture you see and heâll have to see it every day so I would like his opinion.â
As Diana studied the other man further, there was something in her gut that seemed to pull and twist as if it were possessed. There was something about this man, something in him that resonated deeply with her...She knew him. This seemed impossible, of course, but she knew she knew him from somewhere. His presence, the way he carried himself, and his eyes...those eyes...
Diana snapped back to the present when he finished speaking, not even realizing that sheâd zoned out so badly. âWait!â she retorted a little to loudly and a little too quickly, causing her entire face to turn completely crimson underneath the mask. The sudden heat proved to be too much, and she cleared her throat as she took it off, revealing her full face. âSorry, umm, Iâd be happy to help on either front, the furniture hunting and telling Nik someone called upon him. Iâm just afraid I donât know who you are, sir.â she explained, taking her pink gloves off as she did so and shoving them in her pocket.Â
âIâm Diana, Diana Jones. Itâs a pleasure to meet you, sir.â she continued, extending a delicate, pale hand towards the other with her signature southern politeness and bright white smile.
Diana wringed her hands as yet another minute passed with her having not knocked on the door. She decided to get to Lukaâs precisely ten minutes early so sheâd have five minutes to wallow in her own anxiety in the car, then another five minutes to fret at his stoop. This would be the first time sheâd seen her baby brother in, well...years, at least. Sure, sheâd spoken with him on the phone and such, but things were different now. So much more different...Still, as she flashed up the time on her phone, she knew better than to be late.
Putting on her best sisterly smile, she wrapped sharply on the door. âLuka!! Honey, itâs your sister, Di!â she called out, on the off-chance that heâd forgotten that they were going to meet and catch up. While sheâd initially thought about having them meet at a restaurant, she didnât want to come to pieces in front of a live audience. No, sheâd much rather have food delivered here to Lukaâs domicile and the two of them relax.
âTheyâre an accessory fruit,â Col explained. âThe âseedsâ outside the âfruitâ are the individual nuts, and the fleshy fruit bit is an accessory fruit, which isnât a fruit at all.â He personally loved sharing cursed knowledge with people. âItâs designed for plant propogation, where the nuts begin to grow and they use the âfruitâ to feed from as they grow. Itâs why that thereâs a very common correlation with those with nut allergies and those with strawberry allergies.â
Col just grinned. âI havenât done anything yet,â he promised. âBut does it really hurt to plan ahead? One day, Iâll inevitably do something, and I can present my offering for immediate peace instead of neeeding to make a plan for a later time. Iâd rather have a back-up plan than fly by the seat of my pants. I pay too much for nice trousers to risk them on such plans.â
Diana couldnât begin to help the way her face fell, her jaw going slack as he talked about how strawberries were, in fact, actually nuts. Normally, her brain would be scrambling to figure out if he was just completely bullshitting her, but today? She didnât care. Colmanâs explanation was far more interesting than it just being a mere fruit.Â
âI...I genuinely donât know what to say to all of that except for this: How on earth did you come across this information? Iâm getting closer to forty everyday and Iâve never heard something like this.â she proclaimed, genuinely curious as to how he came to acquire such a factoid.
Her shock didnât waver when he explained his thought process for bringing fruit, and it was all she could do not to laugh out loud in sheer enjoyment. Instead, she resigned herself to a hearty chuckle, shaking her head in disbelief. âThey are indeed nice trousers,â Diana agreed, glancing down at the garment in question before meeting his eyes, âIs it possible, Mister Dragoumis, that you are the single most interesting person Iâve ever met?â
âAh, a shame,â Colman said, shrugging a little. He considered leaving the raspberries simply walking away, but Diana worked for Persephone and he figured she wouldnât be particularly happy if she heard he was being rude to her employees. Besides, Diana wasnât totally unbearable. He supposed he could socialise for a little bit, lest he turn into a hermit in one of his cabins.
Col shrugged. âI always bring fruit when I come to visit,â he explained. âExcept when I bring strawberries. Because those are, in fact, nuts, but the sentiment is the same, I suppose.â He took a raspberry in hand and popped it into his mouth. âI bring them as a sort of peace offering, I suppose.â
âWait, hang on...Strawberries are nuts? Iâm afraid I donât quite follow.â Diana was familiar with the whole tomato/fruit debacle, but this strawberry thing was something wholly new. She took another raspberry and ate it, mentally taking a note to pick some up on her way home tonight.Â
His mention of a peace offering caused her dark brow to quirk in bemusement. âPeace offering? Goodness, what could you have done to make Miss Persephone so cross? This I simply must hear.â

"I have to pick only one?! That's so hard! I'm gonna have to go with All Night Long by Lionel Richie though. That song always makes me want to get up and dance."
"Oh gosh, umm...I wouldn't say so, no! While I'm not one to immediately discredit the possibility of something, there's something about most conspiracy theories that are just so...ick to me."

Elric had been obsessed recently with updating the house and to do that he needed his fledglingâs opinion. Most had already agreed with some added comments on if he was going to do the other houses. Still, he needed Nikâs opinion. Heading to the manâs place of work Elric figured heâd find the younger vampire there but was surprised when he walked in only seeing a human.
âApologies I did not mean to intrude, I was searching for Nik. Do you know where he might be?â Elric asked looking at the woman in front of him.
While she enjoyed being social for the most part, there were days when Diana truly relished being able to just go through the funeral home as she pleased. Even if it was just her boss in, she always felt weird wearing any aspect of her âuniformâ around where the public might see it. Todayâs outfit was particularly off-putting, as she was rocking what could only be described as a Doctor Frank-N-Furter lab cosplay: a teal colored lab coat complete with bright pink gloves (though instead of heels, a pair of white skechers sneakers donned her feet). Her hair was tied back in a neat bun, and she had a bright blue mask covering her nose and face.
Sheâd been asked to help embalm a body for a local funeral home a few miles away, as their shipment of supplies hadnât gotten in just yet. More than willing to help, she had just started in when she realized sheâd forgotten a box of product that came with the body in the office. She had just began walking past the front door when a man she didnât recognize came inside. Diana jumped a little in spite of herself, hand flying to her chest.
âO-Oh goodness! No, umm, youâre quite alright! Iâm afraid I havenât seen Nik today. Itâs just been me here today. Perhaps he has the day off?â she offered wearily, looking up at the towering man with a nervous smile still masked behind blue material. âIs there something I can help you with, sir?â
Col needed a break. He was working on an elaborate light fixture in his glass studio, but honestly, his fingers needed the break. Seph was always good for some conversation. Col made a stop at the store, browsing the fruit idly to see which looked best. He grabbed a basket of raspberries and went to the self-checkout before he drove out to Hollow Hills.
âToday, I come with an actual fruit,â Col said as he walked into the backroom. He didnât register right away that the dark-haired woman wasnât Persephone until he set the basket of raspberries on the table. âYou are not the woman I was expecting,â he said flatly. âBut seeing as I donât see her, if youâd like some raspberries, please, help yourself.â
Diana hummed quietly to herself as Billy Joel crooned a familiar tune over the speaker in the back room. Sheâd just finished up her work on a specimen for the day when a familiar face came whirling into the room. A playful smile crossed her lips as she appraised the fruit on the table. âIâm afraid youâve just missed her, Mister Dragoumis. She had to leave a bit early today, I donât think she was feeling too well.â Diana explained, taking a raspberry and popping it into her mouth. A light moan vibrated through her throat as the juices exploded in her mouth...These were good raspberries.Â
âI could sit here and eat these all day. Is there a particular reason why youâve come bearing fruit? Something involving the fruit of your labors or something?â
Hi friends! So here is Diana, my darling neurotic eldest of the Jones family. Iâll list a few connections here, but if you come up with anything, PLEASE donât hesitate to say something!
Creature who saved her: This is easily my most wanted connection right here. I would LOVE for the supernatural creature who saved her all those years ago in college to be here in Wolford and for them to somehow cross paths. We can absolutely flesh out the details later, but this is the one Iâm SO excited about. Full disclosure: I was kinda hoping for a romantic connection out of this, but I am still totally open for it to be something else!
Best Friend/Good Influence: Sis needs a good friend to help her get out of her shell and really own her life. She tends to keep to herself by and large, so Iâd love to have someone in her life who can help her really grab life by the horns and make the most of every day.

Bio:
Diana, the Roman goddess of the hunt. For the Jones family, they could not have poised their daughter for greater success in their beliefs than in bestowing such a name to her. Had thing turned out the way theyâd have wanted, Diana might have become a fearsome hunter of all sorts of creatures, supernatural or otherwise. However, Diana quickly fell in line with Ferdinand the Bull more than any sort of fearsome hunter. Being the eldest, much was expected of Diana and she did her best to follow her familyâs expectations to the letter. She was an exceptional student, a beloved volunteer, and a hard-working employee at her townâs florist.
Despite her passive nature, Diana was not immune to the prejudice of her parents. Instead of it manifesting in her becoming a hunter, it grew into an almost irrational fear, one that threatened to keep her from attending college after high school. Sheâd grown so safe and complacent in her little hometown life that the thought of her going out into the big world full of literal monsters was downright traumatic for her. However, her parents wouldnât hear of her not going off, and soon enough she found herself kissing her brothers goodbye and heading off to college.
Being away from home on a full ride changed Diana greatly, in more ways than one. The most notable of these changes was that she had her first real encounter with a supernatural creature. Being the eternal momma bear she was, sheâd agreed to go as her friendâs plus one to a bonfire and act as a DD, as well as wingwoman. Her friend had stumbled off into the woods with their paramour and after a while, Diana had begun to get extremely nervous. Swallowing her fears, she ventured into the woods in an attempt to find her friend. Following what her naĂŻve brain registered as potentially noises of carnal pleasure, she instead found herself within pouncing distance of about three coyotes that were currently gorging themselves on a deer. Upon her attempt to backtrack, Diana somehow managed to get their attention, and all three animals turned on her on a dime. She swears that her life flashed before her eyes in that moment and she reckoned for sure she was a goner. But their yips and snarls were deafened by something far largerâŚand deadlier.
Diana still isnât clear what she saw that night. She can only clearly recall two things: the sound of the coyotes being ripped to shreds and the eyes that stared back at her from the lumbering figure of her savior. Those eyesâŚThat damned, haunting gaze. Even nearly twenty years later, Diana still wakes up in a sweat dreaming about the savage eyes of her savior. While she wasnât certain about who saved her, she knows beyond a shadow of a doubt that it was some sort of supernatural being. That right then and there changed her entire outlook on much of her life.
Not only did her view on the supernatural change, but her little brush with death also triggered something in Diana, a hyperfixation of sorts. One thing lead to another and she graduated with her associateâs degree in mortuary science and found herself a job as a mortician in a town far away from her family. She started seeing a therapist, which had a profound effect on her. This would soon blossom into her receiving her Masterâs in Counseling to also work as a grief counselor for her little funeral home. She puddled along for a little while in this position until she got the call from her folks. Luka had been bittenâŚby a werewolf.
Dianaâs perspective was once again thrown into whack. While sheâd been saved by some creature, could they really be so bad as to turn her brother? Was it with his consent or was he truly the victim his parents were screeching about on the other end of the line? Regardless, she knew she had to be there for her baby brother. The idea that her brother could be one of them was something that Diana was entirely unsure if she was able to stomach, but sheâd be damned if she wasnât going to try. Furthermore, knowing that their brother Auggie (Augustus) would be there too made her realize more than ever that she had the chance to make things right for all three of them. How she was going to do that, though, was yet to be seen.
