When Jason turned into his 16 year old self, everyone thought he'd be the same as he was now, just younger. But no.

16 year old Jason was like a shell of a person. Standing, staring at nothing. Responding to nothing, as if he wasn't truly present. However, one of the people the bats were fighting tried to attack Red Hood with a metal bat since he would be an easy target with how he doesn't respond to anything. The bats who saw this tried to run to Jason to protect him. However, Red Hood attacked the man. Like a reflex, his movements too mechanical, no special flare he usually has when fighting. As if he was fighting on autopilot. The bats sighed in relief and decided that Jason could protect himself and refocused on making sure none of their opponents were standing.

As the fight dragged on, the opponents made sure not to fight the younger Red Hood as when someone did, they were either beat to a pulp, close to death or had died. No one else wanted to try their luck.

Then as one of them managed to get a hit on Robin, Red Hood had basically teleported with how fast to travelled to where Robin was from where he originally was standing. Red Hood then decapitated the man's head before walking up to Robin, picking him up despite Robin's struggle to get free. Then, he walked over to the wall, sat down, cuddled even closer to Robin, throwing Robin's birdarang whenever someone got to close. His precision was deadly.

Everyone in the room had stopped, watching Robin thrash around at first until giving up and leaning into Red Hood's hug with a sigh, arms crossed with an obviously displeased expression.

"tt, father, I expect you to hurry up and finish so I can escape this embarrassing position."

Shocked at what he was witnessing, Batman took a while to process what was said to him before nodding and capturing the last of their opponents who were still to shocked to move.

After handing them off to the GCPD, the bats tried to get Jason to get up and come back to the cave, however he refused to move from his spot, they didn't dare to force him up due to Damian's worning. But Jason was not responding to anything they said which was worrying them, that is until Damian started speaking.

"Akhi, it is safe in the cave, you can cuddle me as much as you want there." At this, Jason promptly stands up while Damian guides him to the Batmobile.

"..."

"What the heck did we just witness?!" Tim just exclaimed in disbelief, that not only was Damian being tame, but that he didn't say anything rude about Jason? And he called Jason 'Akhi'? What the hell!

After getting back to the Batcave, Damian explained about how Jason was with the LOA during his years after coming back from the dead, but was in a catatonic state until his mother pushed him into the pit which 'fixed' his mind, bringing him back from his catatonic state at the cost of amplifying his emotions, which was why he was so angry at Bruce when he first came back.

Damian said that all while in Jason lap while getting his head patted.

It was a conflicting scene. Jason, face blank but stroking Damian's head softly, while Damian in his lap, scowling with his arms crossed, but was leaning back against Jason as if it was something natural.

Damian then added that the reason Jason is acting like this right now is because during his catatonic state, Jason was placed as Damian's guard due to the way he would protect Damian from any danger since the first time Damian was attacked in Jason's sight. As if Jason was a mama lion and Damian his cub.

"Now hurry up and call Zatanna. Akhi hates letting anyone know what happened when he was catatonic."

Without fail, whenever someone sees him, they will see the dagger. When one of them suggested that he take it off since there's no point in carrying a broken dagger, he gets defensive. He snarks at them to mind their own goddamn business as he walks away.

One time during patrol, when Jason and Dick were working together, Jason just froze, hands patting down him body, trying to search for something that isn't there.

Dick notes that the dagger isn't on Jason.

Jason starts acting like he's in a frenzy, whipping head left and right trying to locate wherever it had gone.

In the distance he managed to spot a thug bending down to pick up his dagger, inspecting it before throwing it away like it's garbage.

But it isn't. It's Jason's treasure. Proof that someone loves him and would do anything for him.

Not thinking, body moving on autopilot, Jason rushes to where the thugs are much to Dick's dismay.

He beats them all up with efficiency, being dead silent in his beat up, not cracking a single joke like he usually would.

When the last one goes down, he scurries to where the thugs threw the dagger and picked it up with such gentleness, as if it was a fragile item that could break with a hint of strength. He then pockets it, back to its usual place, slowly calming down now that he's been reunited.

Dick is just baffled by what he just saw. Only thing he can say is that he's proud that his Little Wing didn't use any excessive force or main anyone. But he seriously needs to know why the dagger is so important to Jason, so much that he's obviously shaken up when seperated from it.

After days if pestering Jason, Dick finally got his answer.

The dagger was Damian's, back in the league. Damian had used it to protect Jason during one of their missions together. The reason why Jason is so protective of the dagger is because it showed just how far Damian would go for Jason, using his dagger to protect him even when it broke.

Dick looks back at the times he's seen Jason and Damian interact. Sometimes like enemies, sometimes sibling. By the end of the day, you could often spot the two in the library, leaning on each other as they read a book.

Father, Pennywoth, and Drake describe Jason as an innately reckless, angry, and violent child who cause his own death, and to not be like him.

But they're wrong. Jason isn't reckless, he plans things to a T, making sure that everything will work in his favour.

Sure, there are times when something unexpected happens, but he's a quick thinker and will find a way to manage the problem in the most efficient way.

Jason isn't innately angry either, he's not just angry at the 'world' and everyone in it; he's angry at the injustice innocent face, the suffering that could've been avoided. Damian's seen Jason create a bloodbath, soaking in the blood of scum who deserve it ten fold, anger seeping out at the thought the more victims were created.

Nor is he innately violent, often prefering to wind down with a book or just spending quality time with Damian. That is anything but violent.

If anything, Damian would describe Jason as a kind soul, one too passionate and caring, putting others first instead of himself.

He's disgusted by Bruce and Alfred. Much to his displeasure, he can acknowledge that Drake is not entirely at fault as he was only a child who saw the adults trample on Jason's good name.

No.

The people he is mad about is Father and Pennyworth. They're supposed to be adults, one a hero, and yet they don't have the brain to understand that no child is at fault for their death? That adults should instead protect them from any harm?

And don't even start on the memorial case. It is downright disgusting. To say that Jason was a 'good soldier' and not a son? To tarnish his name while also holding him up to a pedestal?

Baby Damian: 😳

Jason, trying not to laugh: down came the rain and washed the spider out.

even after the identity reveal, Damian refuses to step down. the moment he perceives the family as being unfair to Jason, the moment they seem to overlook him or brush him off, Damian will be there to tell them off and remind them that, actually, Jason was talking first.

what’s probably even more dumbfounding to them by that point is that Jason lets it happen. it forces them to realize that Jason hardly fights for himself, to be heard or acknowledged. and for those of them that had been there when Jason first joined the family? it’s a painful reminder of the skittish boy they had first got to know

Damian takes his duties of brother very seriously. when Jason first joined their family back in Nanda Parbat, his mother had been very clear when explaining to him that his brother was in no state to speak or stand up for himself due to his catatonic state. Damian had made it his mission then to not only defend but also promote his brother’s interest. it would be unbecoming of him to let anyone diminish or take advantage of the more vulnerable member of their family until he could do it for himself

Dick notices that Damian's morning training routine is exactly the same as Jason's. he assumes Damian picked it up from Jason. "...no," Jason tells him, slightly embarrassed. "he just refused to change schedules and it was easier for us to do it together in the league."

Tim catches Jason reorganising one of the manor's bookshelves into alphabetical order and when he asks why Jason just absently goes "oh, Damian always does this, he doesn't like it the wrong way round."

"...Damian isn't here right now...?" and Jason freezes like he's questioning his entire life. funniest occasion was when Steph tagged along on a grocery shop Jason was going on for his own apartment and she got confused when she noticed everything Jason was picking out was vegetarian.

"Since when did you go veggie?"

and Jason looks at her all confused, snorting like "what are you talking about?" and then he glances at all the stuff in his basket and he just stills. smile slowly drops. he throws the tofu burgers he'd just picked up directly into the side of the wall and storms out the store angrily yelling about how 'that fucking brat has fucking brainwashed him and it's fucking bullshit-'

It's amazing to see how he turns from a kind and clumsy person into a non killing terminator. He often plays with them, till he finds the best way to break them.

One time a villian had the glorious idea to swap the agents with robots to overtake the agency and steal important plans. They started with Lance (because best Spie) and Walter immediately noticed. He was able to hack the robot and learn the plan of the villian and decided to play along. He acts as if everything is OK, till he had the information of where Lance and the villian were. Walter just walked into the lair like he owned the place and demanded for them to hand Lance over.

Walter found out everything about the villian and gave him the tongue lashing of the century (and Lance would lie if he told anyone that he wasn't turned on by this)

The agency was concerned that they didn't notice that Lance was doubled again and when they asked how Walter was able to do that, he just said that the bot walked different than Lance.

Lance: what! Why?!

Walter: let's be real, between your perfection and self rightness and my anxiety and creativity, our child would have like 0% Chance at not being a dramatic disaster human being.

A few days later:

Walter: Lance! Good news, our Baby will be ready in a few months!

Lance: what-, I thought you-

Walter: I thought you wanted a child? I mean, yes, it's a test tube baby, but that doesn't mean that it's less of a human being!

Lance: but I, you-

The monitors signal a change in heart rate and brain activity, showing that he's waking up. Depa leans forward, watching her padawan carefully and Mace observes them both. Caleb groans and his eyes flutter open to stare, unfocused, at nothing. She gives him a moment to fully come into awareness before speaking. 

"Caleb." 

The boy turns his head slightly towards the sound of her voice, and his eyes move slowly to look at her, as if he has forgotten how to control them.

"Master?" He whispers. "Wh- what happened to me?"

Depa's heart breaks at the words, and Mace clenches his jaw as the feeling bleeds into his mind. 

"There was an explosion." She tells him, her voice somehow still soft and steady. 

Caleb's face pinches in concentration as he struggles to remember. "The wall fell." He rasps after a moment. His master nods, although he doesn't see it because his eyes go distant and widen in horror. 

"Strap!"

"He's alright." Depa soothes immediately, "You pushed him out of the way in time."

"Pushed him…" The boy's gaze strays from her face, falls to look at his hand- then he freezes when he sees nothing there. 

"Master?" He chokes. "My arm is gone?"

Depa immediately projects calm to him in the force and Mace adds a bit of his own energy as well, surrounding them both with a solid, grounding feeling. 

"It wasn't able to be saved." Depa tells him, never one to sugarcoat the truth. Although she somehow still manages to sound calming even if Mace knows her well enough to hear the sorrow in her voice."It was amputated, along with both of your lower legs." 

Caleb makes a strangled sound between a gasp and a cry, and Depa immediately leans over him, humming softly as she presses a hand to his forehead. 

"Calm, Caleb." She murmurs, an echo of the mantra Peace, Depa that her own master had so often told her as a Padawan. 

Mace stands and walks over to stand beside the bed next to Depa, pressing a hand into the mattress so Caleb knows he's there. 

"Just rest, now." He tells his grandpadawan. "You'll be fitted for prosthetics in a few days."

Tears begin to run down Caleb's cheeks, and Depa shoots him a look to say that his words are not comforting in the slightest but Mace ignores her. The boy is upset, so of course he's going to cry. But he's probably not able to think logically right now and Mace wants to make sure that he knows there's a plan for his recovery and that he's going to be taken care of.
