Decided to finally bite the bullet and get a Mamiya C220, loaded it with Ilford HP5+ for a trip to Beamish (an open air “living museum” about life in Northern England from the mid 1800s - mid 1900s). Pretty happy with the results!
Used an 80/2.8 lens, metered with a smartphone app, develop/scan/print from AG Photographic in Birmingham.
I think I’m going to try and do more on film now that I have a wage coming in, also kinda tempted to snag a Mamiya RB67 for some serious stuff.

So, I recently got back from a week in Malta, what an awesome place. Really needed another 3 weeks to stand any sort of chance at seeing everything. Picture dump over the next few days :)
Went for a walk, took a photo of a crow, it was a good day.
Though the clouds did their best to stop me, I managed to catch a few glimpses of the solar eclipse this morning.

Went back to the country park...and didn't get any photos in an hour of walking. I saw a trio of coal tits which were adorable but sooooooo hard to take photos of. Super lively, not easy to track with a 1000mm lens at 10 feet XD Right before I got to my car, I heard and saw something move in a bush, and as luck would have it, this lovely chaffinch popped out :)
Went out to the Rising Sun Country park this morning, saw lots of robins. Good times.

First time out with the Tamron 31a hyper-lens. It's a lot of fun, but unsurprisingly very hard to be inconspicuous in public with the damn thing XD The reach is truly insane though, 400-1000mm equivalent is bonkers.
Wasn't sure what the mighty Tamron 31a would be useful for besides wildlife and sports; turns out it's quite the cloudscape lens :)

Obligatory "from the window" shots with the Tamron 31a; even with a monopod it's a nightmare to keep motion blur at bay (rule of thumb dictates a minimum shutter speed of 1/focal length, so on MFT at max zoom I need a speed of 1/1000s...a tall order in winter this far north.)
Splurged on a Tamron 31a 200-500 5.6, it makes my Tair 3 look quite tiny!
