Admittedly enough, he felt bad upon seeing the other’s concern. He knows he has a rather destructive quirk, and if he could even get a little bit of help from anyone, then he’d absolutely appreciate it. The cat hybrid is honestly pretty happy that the student is taking time to help him out. Give him pointers and whatnot.
He’ll definitely make it up to them. Perhaps next time he sees him, he’ll get whatever snack he wanted. Would that be enough? Stell can only hope so. It’s a small gesture, but he’ll do it.
The young hero nodded a few times, taking note. Suppose he could try that..Not like he’ll do any good, wheezing and having difficulty with breathing as is just by this mask. Even when they are in a place where Stell could use his quirk without much worry, the teen was nervous on blasting too much power. He barely tugged on his mask, hesitating for a moment before tugging it down further, having looked away from Tokoyami immediately to make sure he doesn’t harm them.
He took this moment to breathe. He hates the gag, but he knew it was for the better, since he can’t fully control himself yet. He stared at the bolder in front of him, trying to imagine some way to visualize a blow that’s equivalent to a dodge ball hitting you, rather than a whole canon going right through them. So if his scream creates a large hole through it, then..
Stell started with a shout, keeping his balance as the hole shot out a blast. What came out was sort of a funnel effect, this could perhaps help him in a sense. Because on his side, the large was fairly large, like a big beach ball type of size, but the other side of the hole was smaller. Deadly, but there’s progress at least. He didn’t just black a huge hole this time.
TOKOYAMI watches silently as the other considers his words, preparing to try yet another blast. I’s interesting to observe a quirk with similar problems with control, though WHY they had issues are two entirely different reasons. While his was straight control, Tokoyami’s problem was mentally - EMOTIONALLY if you will. So while his attempts to give advice came from a similar issue of control, he wasn’t entirely sure if it would help.
So he watches quietly as the other fires off a blast, hardly flinching as it tears through the boulder. At first glance it doesn’t seem much different from before, the massive tear in rock still too large to feel safe to use in public. Tokoyami doesn’t just stop there though, remembering his mentor’s advice about observation and walking forward.
As he does, he gets a glimpse at the other side, taking note of the more controlled hole drilled through. PROGRESS, and while it wasn’t up to standards as far as he was concerned, it was GOOD.
“ Almost. Certainly with time, you will find success ” His words are approving, but not rose-tinted as he walks around again slowly. Encouraging was his goal, but he would not lie to the other. Such a thing would only prove UNHELPFUL after all.
“ Are you tired? A break may be in order ”
