How have things been going...?
Anta, Salta - Argentina. Monday 18th, May.
---------------------------------------------------------
"... Don't you have a place to go to? You keep haunting me as if you didn't have any family waiting for you at home" a man in his late 40s asked to a ghost who chuckled and sat on the table where the man was currently translating an old grimoire.
"Hey, at least you finally acknowledged me! I've been trying for days to get you to talk to me, and besides I don't think my family would mind my absence. It's not like Dolo knows I'm back" the specter chuckled, swinging his legs a little.
"Huh... I thought that you'd tell her first, or at least Angie" Fernando closed the book, sighing and then looking at his old friend.
"Well, I tried talking to Angie you know? But she's always drunk because of guilt as if she didn't go to jail already willingly for killing me" he shrugged.
Fernando eyed him warily, wanting to believe that the spirit was there just to chat with him. Yet...
There had to be a reason why Leonidas was here, his best friend wouldn't just visit him many days in a row just because he wanted to. There had to be a reason, he knew this dumbass wouldn't just be insistent without a GOOD reason.
"People are way more complex than you give them credit for, Leo. Including yourself, because I doubt that you'd be this stubborn over a simple thing, right?"
Leo stared at the older man, they were almost the same age yet he had stayed in his teens the whole time. The best of friends, yet separated before they could even think about the future.
"At least you know me well, that's nice" he smiled cheerfully before clearing his throat. "But yes, I need to ask you a favour"
Fernando rolled his eyes. "Really? You've been bothering me for almost a whole week just for that?"
"Well, it's important! I need you to teach someone magic. It's VERY important but hear me out don't decline yet-!"
"Oh by hell's sake, I would rather die than train someone-"
"-JUST HEAR ME OUT, OK?! I know you aren't fond of disciples but I know someone who desperately needs a teacher"
"And pray tell, why I am the perfect candidate for such a task? I don't have any students"
"Well- you still owe me a favour from decades ago when I stole the answers of a test for you"
"... Really? You're gonna use THAT against me?" the warlock raised an eyebrow as he huffed, confused and slightly offended.
"What? I know what you're like, I couldn't convince you to do anything when I was alive, what makes you think I can convince you to do something in death?"
"..." the man tried to think of a comeback, yet Leónidas made a good point. "Fair enough, I am a man of my word. Who do I need to teach then?" he tilted his head slightly to the left before starting to drink his tea.
Fernando interrupted him as he spat his tea on accident, starting to choke from shock of the news.
"DOLORES had a child?! Who was crazy enough to marry that woman?-" Leónidas then elbowed the warlock, huffing.
"She's not married! One guy was just an ass and the other one just made a deal with her to have a child together- she is trying to marry her girlfriend but kinda fumbling on it but anyways don't be mean, you're worse than her!" the ghost rolled his eyes.
"Uh huh, sure. That's not possible but can you get to the point already? I'm a busy man"
"Oh come on, who do you have a date with? I doubt anyone with more than three braincells could see the 'red flags' as the youth says-"
Fernando groaned and threw a cushion from the couch at him while smirking teasingly. At least he hadn't changed at all. A dofus in all his glory.
"Take this more seriously, idiot. You should be like 50, act like it"
"Excuse you? Nando YOU are older than me, you damn old hag-"
The man chuckled and ruffled the kid's hair.
"I did mean what I said though, I need at least an address to know where to go to meet this... Nephew of yours."
"Of course, but can we talk for a while? I've been meaning to talk to you for ages!"
The magic user glanced at him one last time, sighing in defeat and closing the book he was translating.
It... Would be for old time's sake, why not?
"Sure, let me get the kettle and I'll prepare something to eat" he smiled, walking out of the room.
Little did he know what he was going to get himself into.
