Equiping an armor tutorial
i'll prob make more bc i love talking ab armors
A nice effort but not necessarily a perfect picture of realistic armour. Historical armour often had gaps, which was usually mitigated by a large shield. Later plate armour often had curved plate designs like in the "bad" examples, just with much less obvious weak points. The curvature of the plates was to deflect crossbow bolts and the fast moving lances of mounted fighters which were the real danger of penetrating the plate.
The main form of body armour in ancient to middle ages Europe was a vest or puffy coat made of many layers of linen that was surprisingly effective, and if you were lucky, some metal scales or chainmail on top, which admittedly is not as fun to draw. Just being a nerd, still good to think about what the armour is designed to protect against and how an opponent might overcome it which is what OP intended.
