you are my midnight

okay so last night, after the show (11/29), i and 20 other people went around the back of the venue to meet the boys. after we learned it would likely be a 2 hour wait in the freezing cold (the boys were at their after party), a bunch of people went home, leaving ten or so of us.

after around an hour and 15 minutes, the boys started coming out. management didn’t allow pictures, but we could get our stuff signed and talk for a minute since there were so few of us. they came out kind of one by one, although sam and danny pretty much came out together.

sam was first, and he was so so talkative and genuine and really just cool. and he had a little winter hat on so!!!! anyway, he came out and was so enthusastic in speaking to us one at a time. he signed a girl’s ticket, and the group usually writes “GVF” on tickets i guess, and sam was like “oh gosh usually josh writes the GVF...” and i told him he was just as capable and he was like “ya know what! you’re right!!” in that fucking michigan accent bless his soul .. he also had a mixed drink in his hand and his breath smelled a little like sweet alcohol so he was prob at least a little tipsy but like,, in the best way

danny was right after and what a god damn SWEETIE PIE he walked up to me, and i thanked him bc he handed me a drumstick after the show. he like lit up and was like “oh no worries!! i saw you up front and it looked like you wanted it!! thank you so much for coming to our show” etc etc. then he signed the damn drumstick with a heart. pure mind pure soul

then came jake. he was definitely the most reserved out of the group, but nonetheless still incredibly nice. idk if he’s shy, losing his voice a little, or it’s just his natural quiet tone, but his voice was a little low and raspy. he had this slightly awkward tone about him but in an endearing way. i think he calmed my entire mood down by like 70%. he just like genuinely listened and let out those little Jake Laughs and it was v v nice.. he also was fucking beautiful... like full stop they all were, but jake’s hair? his calm eye contact ?? i remember it Sweetly my dudes

josh was (no surprise) the last one to come out. all of the other guys had changed into slightly warmer clothing, but josh decided it would be a great idea to come out into 35°F (like 2°C) weather wearing what he wore on stage, which were just those fake leather pants and that cropped black vest with nothing under it.... and homeboy acted like he couldn’t even feel it. sam and josh reminded me of each other in how outgoing they were, but where sam was verbally outgoing, josh was physically. i was towards the front of the barricade for meeting them, and w the girl in front of me, after they hugged, he was like “you feel so cold!!!!” and was rubbing her hands together. then, he got to me, and i was like “how! are you wearing that rn are you okay??” and all of a sudden, he got the most exasperated look on his face, grabbed my face, and pulled me in and kissed my forehead (mind you im like 3-4” taller than Tiny Man). at first i thought it was like a “oh that’s so pure she cares” kiss, but then he was like “i saw you waiting for so long on line!!!” then i realized that he noticed who i was bc i was the dumbass who had been the first one in line by hours both of the days so far... i don’t know if he physically saw me or if he saw insta pics of me but either way homeboy recognized me and i was thoroughly exposed, wig ripped off

but uh yeah everything else that happened w them was just some regular back and forth!! something great about the guys is that they make it so clear that it isn’t an annoyance to come out to meet people - or, if any of them thought so, they hid it super well. they always completely held eye contact, were super engaged, and incredibly kind
