Robert is feeding his cows, he's edgy & blocking his anxiety out by listening to music through air pods but he's being watched.

But it's Aaron, who grabs Robert to to announce himself (how very plotty) who jumps out of his skin.

Aaron tells him "Whoa it's me."

A jumpy Robert says to him "What are you playing at?"

Aaron replies "I thought you knew I was here."

Robert takes his air pods out & says "No, I-I didn't know you were here! I thought you might have been..."

Aaron finishes his sentence "What, you thought I was Cain? How many times? Moira's not gonna let him out of her sight. She wants him to focus on getting better."

Aaron adds "Anyway, I was only coming here to tell you I'm going on a call-out."

Robert asks "For the garage?"

Aaron replies "Yeah, it's just come in. Sounds like a big job as well. It's the other side of Hotten, so..."

Robert says "So I'll be having lunch on my own then?"

Aaron replies "Looks like it, yeah."

Aaron adds & asks "Matty's booked the day off hasn't he?"

Robert confirms "Yeah."

Aaron says "Robert, look, I know you still think going to Cain, is the right thing to do, but trust me, you need to steer clear of him, all right? Don't go anywhere near him, do you hear me?"

Aaron tells Robert "I'll see you later." Before leaving for the call out.

The pizza lunch has come to and end as Lydia is taking the boys back to school, Issac has eaten too much pizza! Cain retreats to the couch once more.

Moira says to him "You're not gonna let all this get to you are you?"

Cain replies "Of course not."

She asks "You promise?"

Cain says " I just said didn't I?"

Moira decides to see off the boys outside as Sam ambles over Cain.

Sam says "I hope you didn't mind us doing that the boys were dead set against it."

Cain asks his brother "Sammy you couldn't do us a favour could you?"

Sam tells his brother "Of course I can. You know I'd do owt for you."

Cain says "Great. But you can't tell Moira."

Sam asks "Why? Is it summat bad?"

Cain tells him "Yeah. But it's only what they deserve."

Cain invites Sam to sit down and Cain has a wry smile on his face with revenge in store for Robert & Aaron.

Aaron returns from a day of work at the garage & following their earlier visit with Cain and Moira.

Aaron says he's "Just been covered in oil. And don't tell Cain."

Robert though is stressed and preoccupied with what he's looking at on his phone.

Aaron continues "He'll have a field day saying I haven't learned a thing." As Aaron is cleaning his hands with a cloth.

Aaron turns Robert and asks "What's up with you?

Robert just hands Aaron his phone to let Aaron read the message himself.

Robert's message is from Moira simply telling him....

'Cain knows about the IDs'

Aaron asks When did Moira send this?

Robert tells him "just now."

Robert says in a panic "I knew I should've gone up there with you before."

Aaron says in dismay "I can't believe she's told him."

Robert says "Cain's gonna kill me."

Getting himself into a flap he adds "He's probably on his way up here right now."

Aaron reasons "He won't be, you know. He's in no fit state. You saw him.

Robert snaps "Oh like that'll stop him!"

Aaron says "No, but Moira will. You know how worried she's been about him. It's the whole reason she decided to bury it in the first place.

A worked up Robert points out "But she didn't, did she? She told him! She told him anyway. Because we pushed her over the edge."

Aaron says "We don't know what's gone on. The fact that she's give us a heads up says to me she's gonna sort it. I know she will"

Robert says "No, no I need to talk to Cain. I need to try to explain it to him."

Aaron says "No, don't... Don't do that. Just give him some time. Let him process it all. Moira doesn't want us anywhere near there. You heard her."

Robert says "And what if he never understands? Eh? What then?"

Cain asks Moira "why didn't you tell me?

Moira explains "because by the time I found out you were about to have your operation, and I just knew how you'd react."

Cain says "well that's a bit rich seeing as it's not long since you had Joe at gunpoint."

Moira says "Look right now, the only things we need to focus on is getting this place up and running as a proper farm and you getting yourself better. And that one is by far the most important."

Cain says "I know that."

Moira says "we just need to forget about this."

Cain asks "How can you?

Moira says "Cos we've got no other option!"

Moira questions " You left Joe to Dawn. Why is this any different?"

Cain tells her defiantly "You know I'm gonna get him back eventually?"

Moira agrees "Yeah, of course we will, but just not right now. The same as you're gonna leave Robert alone. Because like it not, unlike Joe, he is family."

Cain replies "Oh, you don't believe that. Not after this. There's no..."

The door opens ending the conversation there.

Sam and Lydia return home unexpectedly early with Kyle and Isaac telling Cain & Moira the boys asked if they could have lunch at home today

Isaac says "we've got pizzas" 🍕

Kyle asks "is it all right Dad? We thought it would be a nice surprise."

Cain tells his son "Yeah of course it is. Thank you."

As Lydia sends Sam & the boys to wash their hands while she turns the oven on to cook the pizzas

Moira says to Cain " Yesterday, you came home because Sarah asked you to. Well, now I am asking you to stay can you do that for me?

Cain is upset believing Moira was talking about him with Aaron & Robert behind his back, Moira denies this but tells Cain this isn't the right time to tell him what it was about. Cain also detects how weird Aaron & Robert were acting before they rushed off. Cain decides he'll go get it out of Aaron then if she won't tell him so Moira finally tells him Robert planted the IDs that sent her to prison.

Cain says "he (Robert) made everybody think he was the hero, helping get you out, how come you didn't say anything?"

Moira says "What else could I do? You don't understand. Joe forced him into it."

Cain replies "Yeah, right! Robert got our home out of this. Your business. I mean knowing him he probably put the idea in Joe's head."

Moira says "No he didn't."

Cain asks "So how did Joe force him into it?"

Moira claims "well, I don't know."

Moira declines to tell him the full story.

Cain asks her "Are you lying to me?"

Moira says "No."

Cain angrily asks "Does Aaron know about this? Does everybody else know? Am I the only one who doesn't know?"

Moira says "No. Dawn, Graham and Kim. But I think that's it."

Cain vows "I'm gonna kill him." And tries to rush to the door

Moira tells him "No, you're not!" As Cain doubles over in pain Moira leads him back to the couch ordering him to "Sit"

Robert awkwardly sits with a tiny biscuit in his giant paws & a little piggy mug 😁 feeling the hostility & resentment towards him coming from Moira as Aaron is spending time with his uncle.

Cain says to Aaron "do you remember the first oil change you ever did? Said you didn't need any help then it just went everywhere... I thought we were going to have to call Greenpeace." Cain & Aaron laugh together at the memory as Robert sits in silence as Moira is ignoring him.

Cain grunts gets up to go to the bathroom.

Robert tries to lighten the tension by joking "Oh, no, yeah, tea goes straight through me an' all"

Cain says he "won't be long"

Moira snaps at Robert in a whisper "Why would you say that?"

Robert shakes his head & says "I dunno."

Aaron says "he seems all right, though."

Moira says to him "Aaron, I'm not pretending that we're best friends here. I'll put up with you for Cain's sake, but I'm not putting up with him."

Aaron says "we were worried. Moira we're going to have to find a way to get through this, cos we're family."

Robert puts down his biscuit & tea & says "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have come... I'll go"

Moira snaps "Good. I don't want Cain noticing anything's up." Robert puts his chair back in place at the table as Cain returns

Moira says "Ah, that was quick."

Cain says "Yeah, it was a false alarm... Everything all right?" Noticing Robert standing up & Aaron looking awkward too.

Moira says " Yeah. The boys were just leaving."

Aaron looks frustrated as Moira says "They're too polite to say that they're up against it."

Aaron plays along and he gets up & says "Yeah, we're gonna be busy for the next few weeks as well, so we might not get much chance to come see you."

Cain tells him "Oh, don't worry. Needs must."

Cain is home from hospital following his prostatectomy surgery and is struggling with his catheter bag as Aaron & Robert following close behind call in to visit.

Aaron awkwardly says to Moira he thought she'd be out grafting. Aaron says "we just came to see our Cain"

Moira asks "we?" As only Aaron has come in, Before Robert comes in lagging behind.

Cain turns to Moira asking "what they're doing here? I said he didn't want anyone checking up on me."

Aaron insists... "we're not I just need to talk to you about the garage. But how are you doing?"

Cain replies he's... "bored out of my skull."

Robert chimes in "I always thought you'd be the slippers & jigsaw type." Aaron gives Robert at WTF look! 😄

Cain asks Aaron "So, what do you want to know?"

Aaron claims he "Got this email. I don't know what to do with it." As he sits with his uncle & gets his phone out to show him.

Robert follows Moira into the kitchen and tells her sheepishly "I'm sorry, all right? Aaron thought it might look weird if I didn't come."

Moira says "To talk about work?"

Robert says "We both know that's an excuse."

Moira says to him "I don't want you in my house. My NEW house." She clarifies.

Robert says "OK, I'm sorry, all right? I'll go.

Robert slinks away from Moira towards the door.

Cain asks him "where are you going?"

Robert replies "Well, you don't need me here for this."

Cain says to him "You're kidding. I'm going spare here, the least you can do is stop for a brew..... Moira can you put the kettle on for em"

Following the earlier confrontation with Moira, Moira also had issues with Issac pretending to be ill to get himself sent home from school & Moira had shouted at him, Moira is wound up as she is packing Cain's hospital bag for his surgery & stay in hospital that will follow the surgery tomorrow.

Aaron calls round, asking Moira if "Our Cain is around?"

Moira says "Nope. And if it's to do with the garage, you'll have to deal with it yourself, I don't want him bothered till he's got passed his operation."

Aaron admits to her, "it was you I came to see actually."

..."listen, I hate what Robert's done with those IDs just as much as you, believe me. I was fuming with him."

Moira says to him, "Did you end up in prison too? Did you lose your farm? Oh, no..."

Aaron says to her... "We're still family, Moira. And for what it's worth, Robert wasn't trying to manipulate Sarah, he just wanted to buy her a present."

Moira says "Can you just go?"

Aaron adds, "We need to find a way to get through this and pull together."

Moira aggressively says "Oh spare me, whatever Cain said about stepping up, and being head of the family, it doesn't count, because I'm here now."

Aaron says "Right... I do know how bad this has been for you. And I know what it's like to be inside. But I can't change it. I'm just..."

Cain comes in with Issac cutting the conversation dead.

Moira says " I told you. He's not working," making it sound like they were talking about the garage.

Cain asks.. "Everything all right?"

Aaron says "Yeah, erm, I just thought I'd come to see if you minded me giving Kammy a few extra hours while you're out of action?"

Cain replies "As long as you don't let him, take the Mick."

Moira sits on the couch and starts apologizing to Issac & fussing over him.

She turns to Aaron & says "We're all sorted then?" Pushing him to go.

Lewis says to Moira, "baby Leyla is a cutie, I bet you and Cain are loving it."

Moira replies "Yeah, certainly nice to have something to smile about." She turns to give Robert a dirty look as Lewis takes the payment for the two coffees she ordered.

Moira heads out but turns around to Aaron & Robert's table and says

"Enjoying your drinks boys?... What happened to staying away"

Aaron says to her... "Come on, Moira. Be fair.

Moira ranting says "Fair? You wanna talk about what's fair?

Aaron tells her "We shouldn't be talking about anything in here."

Moira says "worried your secret will get out? Get the message Robert, you're not welcome."

Aaron tells her "He's allowed to see Sarah & Leyla."

Moira says to Aaron "Is that you being all 'head of the family'?"

Aaron frustrated with her, says "What do you expect him to do?"

Robert chimes in "You know how sorry I am"

Moira says "So I just have to act like everything's normal. While you get your claws in manipulating Sarah?

Robert exclaims "What?!"

Moira says "Throwing money at her."

Robert says exasperated "It was a present for the baby."

Moira says in disdain for him, "Come on, Robert, you are so obvious. You're trying to play the doting uncle, and you think everything's gonna be forgotten?"

Robert says "That's not what I'm doing?"

Moira says "You know, I'm keeping quiet for Cain's sake."

Robert replies " I know. And I'm grateful."

Moira says "I don't need him ripping you apart when he's meant to be looking after himself for tomorrow. So for the first time in your life do the right thing and stick to your side of the deal - stay away." Moira storms out.

Robert is meeting his great niece, baby Leyla (or who he thinks is his niece) he coos at the baby asking her if she is going to wake up for uncle Robert?

Robert is in better spirits than he has been recently while Aaron is more subdued.

Aaron reminds him it's 'Great Uncle'

Robert tells him. "Uncle's fine!"

Sarah tells him, "and trust me, you don't want to wake her up yet. They can probably hear her crying in Hotten." Sarah's not finding motherhood easy.

Cain & Moira enter the café, it's the day before Cain's operation & Moira's still stewing over the IDs secret that she has yet to tell Cain about.

Moira says to Cain what are they (Aaron & Robert) doing here?

Cain asks his wife, "Why what's the problem?" Not understanding her issue.

She catches herself & says "Oh, nothing I thought they'd be at the farm."

Lewis informs them he'll take their order in a second this leaves them hovering around Aaron, Robert, Sarah & Leyla creating awkwardness between Moira/Robert & Aaron as Cain asks his granddaughter Sarah, "how's this little one doing & er, not so little one?"

Sarah replies "Tired. Look what Robert got us" Showing a card with money.

Moira says with a hint of contempt "Oh, he's very generous"

Robert adds, "it's from Vic & Diane too."

... "couldn't figure out what to get. That's why it took so long." He says.

Sarah replies "Oh, no, it's perfect, I can't wait for them to meet her."

Robert says "Neither can they. You know, they're loving the photos. Andy would be dead proud"

Sarah says she "wishes he was here, or mum."

Robert tells Sarah "Well you always got us, you know? We're not going anywhere"

Sarah tells him, "Thanks" Moira is listening to the conversation from behind them waiting for Lewis to take her order & boiling over in anger & resentment at Robert.

Sarah tells him, she best get home and try to put a wash on before her next feed.

Robert coos at baby Leyla "Bye-bye gorgeous."

Sarah turns to Cain on her way out asking him to call her tomorrow to let her know how it goes? (His operation). He simply replies "yep"

Aaron awkwardly asks Cain how is feeling about tomorrow?

Cain says "I just gotta turn up, haven't I"

Aaron quips playing it down a bit "no big deal, then,"

Cain hoping to end the chatter about his surgery tells Moira he'll get the coffees in but Moira insists no, she will. Telling him to grab them a table outside she fancies some fresh air. Getting him out of the way clearly, preparing to say something to Robert.

Lewis returns from dealing with another customer & is ready to serve Moira finally.

Aaron & Robert come into the pub and see Cain drinking at the bar, Robert tells Aaron he needs some bog roll.

Aaron says to Robert... we can go if you want but you can't hide forever.

Robert says... No, no, I'm just full of snot! Robert sniffs as Aaron declares... Eurgh nice!

Meanwhile at the bar Bob clears the empty glasses & asks Cain, is that him done then? Cain tells him, no.

Bob signals to Aaron that Cain's had quite a few drinks.

Aaron sits next to his uncle & says to him, you need to be careful, this could become a habit.

Cain says to him, Mm... What it won't be is your concern.

Bob asks Aaron if he's having one? (a pint?)

Aaron says... Yes, I'll have two pints, please Bob... And hopefully this makes me as happy as this one. Nodding towards Cain.

Aaron asks Cain... Are you and Moira all right?

Cain replies... Well, what do you think?

Aaron points out... You didn't seem great. At least you're not ignoring each other.

Cain snaps... Have you tried ignoring someone in a house the size of a shoe box?

Bob delivers the two pints Aaron ordered & chimes in... I have. The trick is to pretend that you're busy doing something, right? So, they walk in, you go out, going, "I just need to..."

Aaron & Cain both give him a look & Bob takes the hint slinks away.

Aaron then says to Cain, with all the stuff you've got going on, I'd say you need your wife by your side.

Cain insists... I'm fine.

Aaron replies... Yeah. And I mean, imagine how stupid you'd look trying to sort it out.

Cain asks... What?

Aaron says... Well, you know, if you went to Moira and just said "Listen, we're struggling, and I don't like it because I love you and I need you,"

.... And you'd look like an right idiot then, wouldn't you? Aaron adds, as Robert looks on from behind them.

Cain says... No.

Aaron says.... No. So...

Cain says to Aaron... You know, every now and then, you say something that isn't completely stupid.

Cain decides to go home in wake of Aaron's advice as Cain does so, Robert comes over to Aaron... He says... Except this isn't one of those times.

Robert adds... (Should) Him and Moira make up, she's gonna tell him what I did.

Cain is just ending his conversation on the phone as Aaron is forced to wait with Moira who is still raging over her discovery the previous day about Robert and the IDs.

Cain comes out & asks... How are you fixed for the rest of the week?

Aaron replies... Yeah, anything you need.

Moira chimes in... You can turn work down if you can't get through it.

Cain states... I'm not in a position to turn it down. I don't know how long I'm gonna be able to work for.

Moira lectures her husband - you need to put your health first.

Cain asks his wife... Did you come here for something? Cos I don't know if you noticed, but I'm a bit busy.

Moira snaps... It doesn't matter. Then storms off, realising Cain didn't want her there at the moment.

Cain shouts... Good.... And takes a wrench from Aaron's hand & gets into the car engine.

Aaron follows Moira outside.

Aaron tells Moira... Thanks.

Moira turns & bitterly says... Oh, you think I did that for you?

Aaron acknowledges... No.

Moira repeats... No. And I don't know how long I'm going to keep quiet for. But he's got a lot to contend with right now, and there's a big part of life for anyone decent, that'll be looking for their family, wouldn't you agree?

Aaron reminds her... Joe's the one pulling the strings.

Moira snaps... Yeah, I do know that. I'm not stupid.

Aaron asks... So are you gonna have a word with him, then?

Moira says... Oh, I'm gonna have more than a word with him. If he thinks he can destroy my life to improve his, he's got another thing coming.

Aaron is working at the garage as Cain storms in past him.

Aaron asks him if he's all right?

Cain simply replies... Nope.

Aaron is edgy and concerned Moira may have told him about Robert planting the IDs.

Aaron tentatively asks his uncle... Why what's up?

Cain replies... Well there's the cancer.

Aaron says, (relieved it's not about Robert & the IDs)... Well, yeah, but you're gonna get through that aren't you?

Cain sarcastically retorts... Well, that's put my mind at rest. I wish I'd spoke to you sooner!

Cain tells Aaron... to shift up. Cain wants to get stuck into work on the car Aaron's working on.

Aaron tells him... Cain, you shouldn't be here, you're injured.

Cain ignores that repeating his instruction to... shift up.

Moira arrives at the garage, she says to Cain... You were gone early this morning?

Cain replies... I had some thinking to do.

As Aaron is anxious about Moira dropping Robert in it with Cain.

Moira says to Cain... You got back late last night?

Cain replies... Well, I had some drinking to do!

Moira lectures... Is that wise under the circumstances?

Cain quips defensively... Moira, the cancer's in my prostate, it's not my drinking arm.

As Aaron awkwardly is third wheeling their squabbling but keeping quiet to not antagonise Moira.

Cain asks his wife... Is there something you want? Because I really need to crack on.

As Cain walks off to answer a ringing phone.

Moira says... Er, yes, actually. I did have something to tell you.
