I promise you skip to two minutes in and the weirdest thing you will ever ever watch. Words can’t describe how weird this is. It’s about as experimental as it gets. There is no narrative here and it is just very weird. It’s like being inside the mid of someone disturbed. This works well being so weird as it is very memorable. It has a scary vibe and I could also incorportate this in my music video, I want to learn how to do this green sort of effect colour like night vision. It would look very good with peoples eyes glowing.

Narrative: This is non narrative as there is no real story and this is all visual.

For my idea I wanted to use the night vision idea. Although I only used it in one shot, it’s something I would like to use more in the future.

This is pretty mad, It’s deffo like no music video I have seen before. Very graphic and al shot from a very realistic POV. Theres something very memorable about this and i don’t think a music video has been done like this before, especially this graphic. it reminds me of requiem for a dream or trainspotting after the use of hard drugs and nude girls. this works well because could simply be achieved with a gopro. I could incorporate this into my music video idea. it’s very unique however mine wouldn’t be so graphic.

Narrative: This video does have a lose narrative, as there is a little story but mostly it is just his night out.

Relate to idea: I wanted to use the idea of many shots with a gopro, however during the filming process I could not achieve this as I had no micro SD card.

I like where the screen gets blurry to represent how drunk/high he actually is. It’s almost like were him.

Today and Yesterday

Yesterday I went filming, I got many different shots and have around 10 minutes of footage, this being cropped down though will be about 30 seconds so I need to get a lot more. My friend who is also in the music video is off for the last time today and the weather is still purdy, so I will be filming all today as it’s a half day in college. The shot’s are starting to come along and a basic story is happening. I should be done by next week.

This is a style I would like to achieve for a music video. This is quite experimental as it has this homemade look, despite using special effects to make it look realistic.

This is a short film by award winning director Spike Jonze, very experimental and different. It’s more quirky than it is experimental but if you have seen any of Spike’s music video’s you would know how bizarre they are. This film is also very sweet and if you’ve got half an hour i promise you would enjoy.
