Too far damaged Berserkers are disposed of by removing the Spinal Cord implants, then cutting its base attached to the base of the skull. It is a high concentration-demanding work, which can be performed only by third grade Nurses, as the Spinal area of a Berserker is highly irradiated and could trigger unwanted reactions upon harsh handling.

The irradiated Berserker's husk is then thrown underneath the Nursery, along with failed Berserker bodies, through a vertical passage to the lower tunnels of the Old Bastion.

This process went on for generations since the first (unstable, but working) generation of Berserkers was disposed of.

The reason as to why all the entrances, but a one-way one, were closed shut is mostly unknown, now recorded in only a few notes in the first medical records.

Even if tearing noises were heard from the deep low end of the hole, years after shutting down the entrances, it was not worth sending a second expedition and stopping using the only good place to seal bio matter of that kind.

Knight concept: Thaye

Former Vanguard knight, specialised in anomaly containment.

Her combat style is heavily based on speed rather than a more “tank” approach.

The armor was made to further aid her combat style, allowing her wider movement range and less weight.

Likely all other knights, she is able to manipulate the energy stored in their spines. However, she is able to solidify it to it into a whip.

This ability is made stronger by the fact that her back plates are open.

As the remaining knights died defending the last large outposts from anomalies, Thaye ended to be a stray, but still devoted to her cause.

Hi!

Yep, knights are meant to fight anomalies.

They are beings made out of the same energy knights can use in combat (weird black masses surrounded by heavy smoke).

Cannot spoil much, but can say knights are the only ones able to get in melee range.
