Gonna ramble a bit here because I’m not good at explaining things at all

To me their relationship kind of stems from the idea that they’re almost the same character, one is just more successful than the other.

From Vee’s perspective, for this ship for me, she sees Shelly as someone she doesn’t want to be or turn into; forgotten about and eventually being less favored for something newer and shinier. It’s odd that she still remains optimistic and hopeful, regardless if it’s a front or not. The ship from her perspective is learning about how Shelly is able to keep up that happier/supportive appearance around others and how she’s trying to be different even if she herself is essentially ignored by the others.

From Shelly’s perspective the relationship is mostly admiration and over willingness to meet certain expectations in order to gain some kind of social standing with Vee. Not necessarily to bolster herself but to try to be seen as an equal to her in Vee’s eyes. Shelly slowly learns to have a back bone is gets more comfortable with herself and where she’s at, not really needing Vee’s eyes on her anymore to get validation.
