elio  was  the  son  that  the  damiani's  had  always  been  secretly  praying  for,  falling  into  the  position  of  their  third  (  and  final  )  child.  although  they  wouldn't  admit  it  for  the  sake  of  their  image,  they  had  always  planned  for  a  son  to  take  over  the  family  business  -  despite  having  two  strong  &  very  capable  daughters  befalling  their  son's  birth.  besdies,  the  damiani's  had  always  been  very  conservative  in  their  ways;  with  giuliana  damiani  sweeping  her  girls  away  from  all  matters  business,  and  lucian  damiani  taking  his  son  eagerly  under  his  wing.

elio  was  sculpted  into  the  man  his  parents  envisioned  him  to  be  pretty  much  from  the  minute  he  was  born.  his  education  was  above  par,  his  schedule  filled  with  tutoring  sessions  &  extra  curricular  activities,  with  young  elio  bombarded  with  the  constant  reminder  that  he  would  achieve  so  much  more  than  his  peers,  until  he  began  to  believe  it  himself.

his  short  -  winded  acting  career  was  more  accidental  than  anything  else.  he  was  scouted  for  a  role  by  a  family  friend,  and  ended  up  starring  in  a  disney  show  from  the  age  of  twelve  to  sixteen.  not  that  elio  would  admit  it,  but  it  was  probably  the  most  fun  &  the  most  he'd  felt  like  a  kid  his  entire  childhood  (  &  he  sometimes  ponders  whether  he  could  have  made  it  big  as  an  actor  ).  his  parents  weren't  hugely  thrilled  about  his  involvement,  with  the  fear  that  it  may  impede  on  their  own  plans  for  their  son,  and  he  was  swiftly  encouraged  not  to  take  on  any  further  roles  once  the  show  came  to  an  end.  the  show  was  a  huge  success,  however,  and  it  earned  elio  an  active  following  online  -  many  of  whom  still  keep  up  with  him  today.

how  likeable  elio  is  probably  depends  on  how  entitled  your  muse  is  ...  because  this  guy  ?  thinks  the  world  revolves  around  him.  he  can  be  pretty  judgemental  about  pretty  much  everything  &  has  never  been  humble  a  day  in  his  life  <3  his  parents  expertly  hand-crafted  a  huge  egomaniac  ! 

that  said,  i  wouldn’t  say  elio  is  purposefully  rude  (  unless  he  doesn’t  like  you,  then  he  will  actively  go  out  of  his  way  to  be  a  dick  ),  more  so  he  is  too  oblivious  to  realize  that  he’s  massively  ignorant  👀  it’s  highly  likely  that  he’s  made  himself  some  enemies  over  the  years,  whether  that  be  intentional  or  not.  he’s  certainly  not  as  poised  as  his  parents  would  have  wished  for  him  to  be,  &  can  sometimes  get  caught  out  by  the  paparazzi  &  paper  headlines  for  getting  himself  in  trouble  /  bad  situations.

his  random  passion  is  languages  -  he’s  fluent  in  english,  italian,  &  spanish,  &  has  been  studying  russian  &  mandarin  for  years.  it’s  probably  one  of  the  only  things  he’s  entirely  grateful  that  his  parents  pushed  him  to  pursue.

relationships  are  viewed  as  a  distraction,  so  elio  has  never  entirely  invested  himself  into  anybody.  he's  had  flings,  &  some  close  calls,  but  never  the  real  deal.  he  keeps  people  at  arms  length,  &  likes  to  pretend  that  he  doesn’t  need  anything  more  than  that.  although  he  wouldn't  describe  himself  as  closeted,  nobody  in  his  family  is  aware  of  his  sexuality.
