Hearing Mogar talk about her journey to find and save her warmed her heart. And thatâs what the two were doing now, just sitting and catching up. She remained silent, now listening to her son talk.
  URSINE WARRIOR RESTED quietly beside his mother, the silence of his ease broken only by the soft murmur of speech; she had asked him to recount the events transpiring during her imprisonment, and he did his best to remember them. So much had happened, he could hardly believe a scant few months had passed from start to end. Hey bud! What would a younger Mogar be like?? And younger as in small child.

I mean, heâs a smol bear child, honestly. He would have had curly and unkempt hair and a lot of scratches from twigs and getting into trouble, and he would try to be all âMOGAR IS STRONGâ but honestly, he would be a scared little kid wandering around in the woods. I still want to hold with my bear tribe theory, so I think heâd originate from a group of people living outside of general society, but I suppose he would have wandered away at a young age, or he got lost or something. So, yeah, heâd value strength, and heâd try to be strong â but heâs a kid. He canât really survive on his own. Heâd be trying to hide his fear, but heâd be scared, and anyone would be able to tell.
Post being adopted by a cow, heâd be a much happier kid. Heâs obviously a mamaâs boy in the present, sweet lil thing that he is, and heâd be like that as a child, too. Heâd still do kid things like chase birds for no reason and roll down hills for fun, but I think heâd be very responsible, as well. Heâd do his best to take care of his mother, with the help of Kablooie. And I feel like Kablooie would serve a very Kaepora Gaebora role for him, in that whenever heâd wander too far from his mother, Kablooie would give him advice and help him find his way back.
All in all, heâd still be a wild child, but heâd also be very sweet and responsible. And heâd always listen to his mother. Always.

Thatâs a good question. Itâs hard to say, since Mogar seems to be a pretty anti-social person, partially because he just doesnât like other people and partially because he has no sense of social etiquette, due to him being raised by trees or something (or something being a cow). So itâs kinda hard for him to make friends with other humans. He just doesnât think the same way.Â
However, he is a kindhearted person, willing to give anyone the benefit of the doubt, up until he believes that person to be irredeemable. At that point his vision is basically red. But he isnât predisposed to dislike anyone based on first impressions, so probably the best I can say about him is that he doesnât just hate people right off the bat. But he doesnât like people, either. Honestly, he just doesnât like humans. He canât relate to them, even though he tries really hard to understand them. So he would probably befriend someone who similarly doesnât fit in with the rest of human society.
Heâd also, of course, be more inclined to befriend someone who shares his values, namely those of honor, nobility, and family, as well as people who want to help him with his goals. He has apparently been advised to not talk to strangers, but during the season he was blindsided by his desperation to locate his mother, hence why he forgot that very basic piece of advice. So, generally, he probably wouldnât talk to strangers at all, because his mom told him not to. But again, heâs a kindhearted person. He would probably help people who look like theyâre in trouble. So he might end up talking to and befriending someone then.

ALRIGHT THE NEW EPISODE CAME OUT AND IT GAVE ME A LOT OF META FODDER SO LETâS TALK ABOUT MOGAR NOW SHALL WE
Alright, so itâs already pretty well-known that Mogar is unfamiliar with the expressions of general society (examples like âCheater, cheater, consumer of pumpkinsâ and this episodes âMogar would like several wordsâ come to mind). Mogar also made comments like âMogar cannot count. Mogar can only fight and smash,â and âMogar cannot read big wordsâ during this episode. Basically, at first glance, it looks like Mogar knows nothing, Jon Snow. But letâs take a closer look at both of these, as well as some other events in this episode, and disprove that.
So, first. Mogar cannot count because Mogar can only fight and smash. Letâs recall that Mogarâs vocabulary is limited, seeing as he was raised by animals or trees or something (or, apparently, by a cow). So when he says things, you have to take it with a grain of salt. Mogar says this line in response to the Mad Kingâs spiel about âI put a roof over your head!!!â which concluded with âYou should be counting your blessings.â Blessings are an abstract concept. Blessings cannot, therefore be counted. This isnât saying that Mogar has no way to grasp abstract concepts, because he can. This is a language thing. Mogar takes things very literally, so when Mad King tells him to count something that technically canât be counted, Mogar says he canât count. Because, well, he canât. You canât count blessings.
Iâm going to veer off for a moment to go over another thing he said during this conversation:Â âMogar sees clear as crystal. Mad King is stalling.â Mogar was aware that he was being manipulated, and he didnât care. He knew full well that the Mad King was just using it, but went along with it, probably in order to use the Mad Kingâs resources to conduct his own search for his mother. And though he didnât suspect that Mad King was the one behind his motherâs disappearance, he was certainly suspicious -- moreso after he heard the Mad Kingâs line about Mogar being a pawn, which led to him investigating the lab. He was vocally concerned about his waning strength, which was probably his mistake. Mad King knew about Mogar being weak without his mother thanks to X-Ray, but he probably wouldnât have known the extent to which Mogar was weakened if Mogar hadnât told him. Mad King was relying on Mogarâs failure in order to later contain him. But he certainly knew that he wasnât safe with the Mad King, hence his increased anxiety over finding his mother. And then, when the Mad King promised that they would find her soon, Mogar said he hoped for Mad Kingâs sake that he wasnât lying. So Mogar didnât know how much Mad King knew about his failing strength, and probably thought he could intimidate and bully Mad King into complying by bluffing.
Next, Mogar canât read big words. Letâs go back for a second. Mogar speaks in pseudo-archaisms. He says shit like âNone of you know the depth of this struggle!â and âMogarâs mission will not be impeded!â So big words arenât the problem. Nor is literacy -- he wrote a journal, and he had written correspondence with the Mad King. So, yeah, he can read big words. But again, letâs take a look at Mogarâs limited vocabulary, which is mostly archaic words and basic expressions. The thing heâs trying to read says âDIABOLICAL PLOT TO SEIZE AND EXPLOIT THE HOMO-URSADAEâS MATERNAL FIGURE.â There is some straight up Latin in there, which Mogar is definitely unfamiliar with. Once again, Mogar doesnât complete the thought and just says he canât read big words, but actually he canât read Latin, because itâs fucking Latin.
So, if Mogar could figure out he was being manipulated, speak in weird archaic bear dialect, track an obscure member of the Mad Kingâs plot to a restaurant, and work with someone he knew was using him in order to use that person back, we can safely conclude that Mogar isnât unintelligent. Heâs just unfamiliar with things most people take for granted, because he lives in the fucking woods.
Now, on to Edgar(?) and her connection to Mogarâs strength.
If you look in the background of the Mad Kingâs lab, there are a lot of posters about cows. Three, actually, with labels âMystical History of Milk,â âBenefits of Milk,â and âCow Stuff,â respectively. So, itâs possible that Edgar isnât the ordinary cow, but is actually a mystical(??) cow of some kind that makes mystical(???) milk, which gives Mogar his strength. This is especially supported by the Butcher saying sheâs not just a cow, but rather sheâs a legend. Mad Kingâs interest in Edgar is reverse-engineering of some sort, which probably means getting lots and lots of Edgar Milk and figuring out how to artificially mass produce it. For what purpose? Who fucking knows. Itâs the Mad King. But he did say that everyone will get what they deserve, so itâs not only gonna be sinister, but itâs gonna be straight up apocalyptic.
Also, on the file, Mogar is called the Homo-Ursadae. So, Bear Man, basically. Whether this is just a joke about Mogar and his bear tendencies or if itâs actually indicating that Mogar isnât fully human is still unknown. Considering his blood glows, it might be the latter, but at the same time, Edgar might produce mystical milk that makes blood glow, so it could still be the former. Hopefully X-Ray and Vav can get their shit together so we can find out and Mogar can get the redemption arc that he deserves.
