What is sleep? Does it taste good?

How’s it going D?  I feel like I haven’t talked to you in forever.

I guess we've been both busy.  So busy I forgot all about yesterday.

Sebastian was pleased Derek seemed to want so much contact. Of all the guys Sebastian had danced with tonight and had yet to dance with, Derek certainly had to be his favorite. If not just because of his fondness for the other man, but for how attractive he found Derek as well. “Yeah!” Sebastian answered happily, “I’m glad you came. Like, really really glad. I haven’t gone out without J in a long, looong time. Are you having fun? You deserve some fun. You’re, like, one of my favorite people, did you know that? I want you to have fun,” Sebastian babbled, slurring just slightly.

Derek wasn't really thinking about dancing with other guys at the moment.  He was doing his best to make sure that Sebastian stayed upright and safe on the floor. Derek cracked another smile, finding Sebastian's happiness infectious. "I'm glad I came too." Derek responded, honestly.  "I normally don't go out without Dan these days." Derek added.  "I was kind of panic-y when he left to spend the night with Wes before the wedding." he babbled. "But it's nice.  Sometimes you just have to go out and...I think a change in scene will do me good." Derek laughed a little. "You are one of my favorite people too.  You make it exceptionally hard to be mad at you though." he laughed softly.

Sebastian didn’t see Derek’s sadness, at least, not in this state. Sober he would have seen it and attempted to understand it, but inebriated Sebastian just saw Derek as himself. Derek was his friend and nothing more, but that didn’t stop Sebastian from pressing close to him as they moved to the music. He didn’t let his hands wander- as much as he’d like to, Sebastian knew where to draw the line. There was an easy grin on his lips, though, lighting up his features. He was secretly a little proud of himself for getting Derek to come out and have fun tonight, not having expected him to actually agree but more than pleased he had said yes.

Derek pressed back just as close, in a kind of snuggling mood.  The thought of snuggling someone on the dance floor made him crack a momentary smile.  Derek was too busy, trying to hold on to Sebastian to really notice where his hands were.  Derek kept his hands modestly placed for a grocery list of reasons; not just his husband at home.  Derek looked at Sebastian's grin, and grinned back. "Having fun?" he asked simply, not sure if Sebastian could hear him over the music.

"It has!" Sebastian exclaimed. "I missed you! Well, not, like, missed you missed you, because we hang out sometimes, but I missed you. Y’know? Like, where’d fun Derek go? I dunno, but he’s here tonight!” Sebastian grinned,hands tugging at Derek’s shirt sleeves impatiently. “Good. You’re-” Sebastian placed his hands on Derek’s sides, pulling him close. “Hmm .You’re warm.” Sebastian began to move his body to the music, following the heavy beat. His mind was a haze and he definitely wasn’t in the most coherent state, but even drunk off his ass, Sebastian still danced with ease.

Derek smiled a slow, real smile, and nodded in agreement.  Even though Julian and Sebastian had been keeping a pretty close eye on him since before his wedding, he still missed them.  He missed the way he was, before.  Derek knew exactly where the fun Derek had gone, and that thought made his eyes sting in sadness and in anger.  Derek wasn't sure if 'fun Derek' was here tonight, but he decided it was okay to pretend for one night.  When Sebastian tugged at his sleeves, he followed willingly.  He even let out a small laugh.  Derek wrapped his arms around his fried, as they began to dance.  He couldn't help but think of Danny, who snuggled up to him on cold nights, and said the same exact thing.  Derek slowly started to move, he tried to lose himself in the music, and forget his troubles while dancing with Sebastian.

"It’s so cool you’re here, Derek, that’s so awesome. When was the last time we went out and had fun? Like, forever ago. This is so awesome. You’re the best! You’re so cool." Sebastian laughed, "Drink, ‘n I want you to dance with me. Tonight I’m gonna dance with only the hottest guys here, so you’re- you’re way- we gotta- I’m gonna dance with you," Sebastian fumbled out, though he was grinning brightly.

Derek laughed at Sebastian's behavior. "It's been too long." Derek said gently.  He didn't really remember when the last time he went out drinking, before the mess with Casey, that was sure.  Derek smiled when Sebastian called him cool.  Even though Sebastian was drunk, Derek found that drunk people were more sincere.  He took another drink, and followed Sebastian out to the dance floor.  He wasn't too sure about dancing with strangers, but felt comfortable enough to dance with Sebastian.  He also figured he could prevent Sebastian from tripping over himself.  "I would love to dance." he laughed softly.

Sebastian preened, clinging to Derek. Maybe he was a little touchy-feely tonight, but he also kind of needed some support while he stood- something Eric had been dealing with all night, but hadn’t seemed to mind. “Hey, man, you too,” Eric said with a smile, shaking Derek’s hand in return. Sebastian grinned. “Yeah! Fun’s good. Let’s get some drinks in you, I want more too. Wanna not remember tonight tomorrow. Let’s go inside!” he said with another drunken giggle, pulling back a bit. “‘N we should dance, Der. ‘ve danced with- with so many guys tonight. Forgot how fun it was. C’mon!” He said, finally moving away, tugging on Derek’s jacket impatiently.

Derek supported Sebastian easily.  He didn't mind being touchy feely at all.  Standing there, supporting his friend just outside a club, made Derek feel oddly normal.  Derek nodded to the idea of drinks.  There were things he wanted to forget too, even if they were further back then that night.  Derek followed Sebastian into the bar.  He wasn't sure about dancing, but he could drink, that was sure. "Drinks first then!" he said, trying to sound cheerful.

Sebastian was well on his way to totally hammered tonight. He wanted to forget his stupid fight with Julian, and had downed too many shots to even bother keeping count. Eric was drinking too, though considerably less than Sebastian, just to keep an eye on him. Sebastian was just outside with Eric as Derek strolled up, and he broke out into a wide grin. “Derek!” he exclaimed gleefully, draping himself over his friend in an attempt to hug him. “Mm, you look good, you look so good. This is gonna be fun! I haven’t had fun like this in forever.”

Derek smiled at the two.  He felt odd, being the only one completely sober. But he figured that would not last long.  Derek pulled Sebastian into a bear hug, for his benefit as much as Sebastian's.  "You look good too." Derek said in a little chuckle at Sebastian's behavior.  "It's good to see you again, Eric." Derek offered a hearty handshake to Eric. "Yeah?" Derek asked, still kind of unsure. "Me either.  I thought a night out might be good.  It will be good.  Right?"
