So I know I've been offline for a while now, but I've been doing some soul searching/mindfulness. Thanks to my close friend @mmsince86 I have been able to identify some blockages that have held me back to becoming the healthiest me I can be. 1. Excercise should be fun... Most of the time it is fun, but there will be repetition, there will be monotony, there will be boredom. One of my problems is as soon as I get bored, I tend to stop. Boredom shouldn't hold anyone back. 2. Motivation = Support... Motivation and support are not one and the same... So telling yourself you have no motivation when really it's support you want is just wrong. Flip that up. You have the motivation. It's your why. So when you tell yourself you're not motivated, think about your why, not about your support. 3. Exercise should be done secretly.... Why do so many people think exercise should be done secretly? I haven't told any of my family what I am doing! Why haven't I told anyone? Without telling anyone there's no support, I was confusing motivation with support, but I wasn't telling anyone what I was doing ... Ergo I had no support. 4. Physical results are key... Nope nope nope nope.... Your body is going through so many changes. The physical results are just a side effect of all the other changes. Remember your body has to retrain itself to burn your stores instead of the fuel you give it, it also has to relearn how to absorb the nutrients from your new nutrient dense food. It's been fuelling itself on sugar water the whole time. Now all of a sudden it's fuelling itself on high octane fuel. The brain takes a while to change it's routine, the amount of insulin it injects into your body, the hunger signals it's sends, all of this has to change. You feel these changes in ways like increased energy, increased confidence, clearer skin, more regular toilet breaks, shiny hair, an inner glow, less cravings for junk, more want to exercise... All these things are also happening. So don't pin your motivation to keep going on the things you can see, pin them on the things you can't, the more subtle side effects. The physical changes will come. They always do. #8fit #8fitchallenge #mindfulness
