I need my fellow white people to leave Isn't She Lovely alone that is not a white trans anthem that is a Black song about a Black man's joy for his Black daughter.
I know! You don't like being told you can't use something because you're used to being able to take everything! But let's be honest here, that's because you're white. When we're white, we're taught we can just do that, save for a very special word that is treated as the Sign of Racism, as though someone must say slurs to be racist. But that's just a convenient ploy to further appropriate Black culture and make someone feel good about doing so because, "well, I didn't say that word, so I can't be racist!"
Black culture is one of, if not THE most appropriated cultures. A lot of things considered "white" now has it's roots in Black culture because no one ever stops to think about the appropriation and harm done.
And this isn't to say you can't enjoy Isn't She Lovely, period. That'd be absurd. What I AM saying is that you cannot, and should not, claim it as your own. In fact, you SHOULD listen to more Black music! I should, too! But appreciation and appropriation are two different things. Appreciate the music, do not appropriate it
