Composers have a huge responsibility when they're hired to write music for movies. They need to set the right tone for not only the scene itself, but for the whole arc of the movie's storyline. Submitters sent in their favorite choices for movie music that set the tone in this way, and now you get to vote for the best one!

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006) is the first sequel to the original Pirates of the Caribbean film, The Curse of the Black Pearl, and follows Captain Jack Sparrow who owes a debt to Davy Jones, the ghastly captain of the Flying Dutchman, and being marked for death and pursued by the sea monster, the Kraken. Meanwhile, the wedding of Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann is interrupted by Lord Cutler Beckett, who wants Turner to acquire Jack's magic compass in a bid to find the Dead Man's Chest.

Batman is a 1989 film adaptation of the DC Comics character starring Michael Keaton as the eponymous hero. It is the first entry in what became an expansive film series. The story follows newspaper reporter Alexander Knox and photojournalist Vicki Vale as they investigate sightings of "Batman", a masked vigilante targeting Gotham City's criminals. Unknowingly attending a gala hosted by Batman's alter ego, Bruce Wayne, they become deeply involved in the investigation as the villain known as the Joker begins to terrorize the city.
