Its been a while since he actually took some time for himself. Even though he has no friends so most time is reserved for himself. However, solo trips are fun. That has dropped business for him however.
Cyro, being the smart man he is worked out gis printer and some website on the Internet and created flyers. The design featured a tan, paper-like background with a PNG of his horse pasted on the sheet, in front of his stable. It was simple, sure. But in this down, thats the best.
He shoves around 50 papers in his bag and a book. By the time hes on his girl, he's already pulled out his novel. Brandy knew where he wanted to go by single words. He directed her to 'town' and she went on her way, enjoying the smells of nature along the way, despite it slowing them down.
They were about 15 minutes into their stroll, which turned into a gallop, was stopped on its hind legs. Cyro rolls off into the crunchy mud as Brandy gaurds him and eyes the figure that stopped them.
"Brandy!" He questions.
"Huh" she looks around.
She doesn't look like she's around here, far from it. Her clothes at first glance seemed too elegant for a place like this, if it wasn't for the wrinkles present and her messy hair
"Wasn't expecting a place like this but anything is better than that hell hole" she muttered to herself, dusting her hand over her clothes as they magically straighten and cleans with a swipe of her hand.
She finally notices the horse, "oh...."
Cyro brings himself to his feet, eventually using Brandy to help him stand up. He pats the horse before himself, the dirt falling off in response.
He moves around the horse to greet the woman. "Why is someone like ya out here?"
Her gaze turns from the horse to the man, "don't worry, I didn't choose to be dropped off here" she says, fixing her hair
"It was a mistake. I was in a hurry to get out" she told him, moving her attention back to her surroundings, her nose scrunching up at the sight
"what in the living hell are you talking about?" He questions, continuing to pat the horse
She sighed, she was tired and did not want to be interrogated right now.
"Nothing. Any way you could tell me a way out?" She asked, too exhausted to be able to use her magic again
"Do you even know where you are, kid?"
"Kid? I'm not a child, far from it actually so I'm expecting you to show some basic respect" she rolled her eyes.
"And I don't know where I am. Despite living on Earth almost my entire life I haven't travelled much here" she crosses her eyes, "where am I?"
"And why is there a horse here?"
"You're younger than me. That counts." He signs before answering "Altoona, kansas. Actually on my property."
He scoffs "this is my girl, Brandy."
"Only in mortal time" she mumbled under her breath.
"Your property?" She looks around, "huh, lucky me" she said, sarcastically.
"Brandy you say" her tone shifted, as she smiled at the animal, "she's a beauty, you're a gorgeous one, aren't you, my dear?" she spoke sweetly to the horse
"What are you doing out here?" Cyro questions
She turned to him, "Nothing really. I was stuck elsewhere and in my attempts of escaping I ended up here" she shrugs.
"It's not uncommon but I usually end up back at my apartment. And right now I'm too tired to try to get back" as she says that the exhaustion sets in and the adrenaline wears off.
She was tired. So tired. She really just wanted to sleep
He exhales a cheap groan, knowing the feeling of escaping. "Escaping from what? Ya need help doing so?"
She shook her head, "I appreciate the sentiment but I'm sure I don't need to worry about that for a bit"
She tries to take a step but ends up stumbling and having to hold onto the tree for support, she blinked to fix her blurry vision but it didn't help.
"Well okay." He watches the woman "You don't seem too good."
"I'm fine" she says, trying to fix her blurry vision.
Did they hit her with something? Or did the escape used too much for her energy.
"on second thought" she reached to grab something to keep her stable, "I don't feel so good either..."
"Get on, kid." He offers her the horse.
"not a kid" she managed to still complain as she got on the horse.
She must really be out of her mind if she was so willing to accept a stranger help. Maybe the animal helped her feel less suspicious but still
He doesn't get on himself, just grabs the reigns and begins walking. "My place is only a mile away." Brandy follows his pace "What happened to you?"
"Fucking moronic mortals can't let me do anything" she said, annoyed.
"Calling me an anomaly like they aren't feebleminded self-righteous creatures who can't let me simply exist" she grumbled, tiredly, leaning on the horse sleepily.
"And to think I used like mortal humans" she mumbles
"humans suck." He agrees
"Some don't" she mumbled sadly, "but some really really suck"
Alright. She was definitely hurt with something, maybe a spell or drug. She never talked like this especially with strangers
They make it to his place. He gets Eris off of the horse and into his house.
"lets get ya some water.*
She rubs her temples, her head was killing her, "I'm fine"
She gives a twist of her wrist and a small vial appears in her hand, she quickly takes it all, making a disgusted face at the taste.
At least now any poison or curse in her system would be clensed
"Is this your home" she looks around
He eyes the vial, but doesn't question. Hes a mutant, how could he? "Mhm. Small but mine." He stares at her for a moment "are you sure ya alright? You look woozy'
She doesn't like being questioned but she can't exactly blame him when he's right.
"I will be. Especially now that the rusk of me passing out in the middle of nowhere has dropped thanks to you"
"Well good. Gotta make sure everyones alright."
She gives a small nod and looks around, still not sure how to take being helped.
Then she remembers the horse, "where do you keep Brandy?" She asks, wanting to see the animal
"Shes out in the pasture with Whiskey." He trails his way over to the kitchen "ya hungry?"
Pasture? Whiskey? She seemed enthralled by the ideas of more animals.
"I should probably eat but after the day I've had I really just need a drink"
"I got everything. Whatcha want?" He opens up his cabinets, grabbing a glass.
She thought about it, "whatcha got?"
"Bourbon, whiskey, wine my ex left here for some reason..." He scans back over, ignoring a few bottles, the expensive ones. "I got a few beers in the fridge. Got vodka and tequila but I ain't making any fancy ass drinks, okay?"
She mused at his last comment, "I'll take that wine off your hands" she says.
Cyro sighs "Thanks." He looks at his glasses "I don't have any wine glasses." He looks back at the woman, awaiting a solution.
She chuckled, "took the wine glasses but didn't bother with the wine?"
She got up, walking over, she wrapped her fingers around one of the plain glasses, letting it turn into a wine glass, "oh would you look at that, I found one"
"He was fancy enough for wine but not the glasses." He watches as the glass warps "What the hell!" He stares at the crystal form.
Oh right
Mortals and magic don't mix that well. She's too tired to bother with that though.
She hands him the glass, "my promised wine?"
"You aint the only one with tricks, girl." His hand lights up into a formless flame before it turns back to calloused skin. He opens the bottle and pours it into the glass.
He places it back in the wooden shelf with a clink against another bottle. He grabs some whiskey and a small glass, pouring it in before placing everything back in its place.
Her shine with a new found interest and excitement, "you also possess magic? I thought you were a mortal"
"What kinds? Since when? From who or what?" She asked leaning closer with each question
"I'm mortal. Im a mutant...kinda."
"A mutant?" She hums, "I've always wanted to figure out the difference between mutant abilities and magic" she says intrigued.
She goes to get her glass of wine, with a small twist of her wrist to assure the drink was safe and not poisonous before drinking.
"I ain't know much about it but mutants' powers come from genetic mutations. Cant speak for your abilities."
"Oh don't worry. I don't understand mine half the time either" she says finishing her wine.
"Guess I just have something new to figure out once I get back. Mutant genes huh?" She thinks about it.
"you got other secrets that are more interesting?"
"I've had over thirty powers in my life time? Is that interesting?
She raised are brows, intrigued and pleased as she leans closer, "Very" she answers his questions.
This was starting to actually look to be not so bad. Sure she was more or less stranded here until he fully regained her abilities as the drug wore off but even so.
Eris Vayne had a knack for knowledge. Anything she didn't yet know what just something she'll end up hours or days figuring out.
"Say how long is your said lifetime right now? You said you're older than me right? And what kind of abilities? All mutant genes or some others as well?"
"Only one was actual mutation...the rest was built off of it. I don't really know how he did it."
Cyro bows his head, staring at his boots. He chugs back the rest of the whiskey.
"I've had all the elements." He speaks without looking up.
"Him?" She tilts he read in questions.
"All the elements huh? Now that's definitely powerful"
"I suppose but I'm no longer that powerful." He slouches.
He looks back up at the woman "However you! You are powerful!"
"Oh that I am. No doubt about it" she grins.
"You still ought to possess such magic, even if it's a mutant ability, genes don't simply change"
"Unless someone manually changes them." He counters. He has no idea if his powers are truly gone or how Douglas even took them away...was that even his name? Theres no point in dwelling on the past.
"I suppose" she hums, taking a sip of her wine.
She lets her thoughts wander for a bit before turning to Cyro with a new found interest, "you mentioned you have animals right? Could I see them?" She asked excitedly.
"Please?"
"Yeah. Got a few cows, another horse and some loud ass chickens." He places his drink down before standing up
"Can I see?!" She asked, floating a little to lean closer, "I love animals. I want to see Brandy's friends"
"Cmon." He begins walking towards the door
She, all in all, dashed to the door, eager to get to get going. Her excitement kept her feet slightly afloat from the floor.
She hardly got excited about things anymore. With magic and other realms, infinite time to learn anything, most simply grew number to any excitement.
But Eris still had a few things that she couldn't help but thrilled over. She loved to learn, knowledge no matter what kind and she loved animals.
No matter the kind or realm.
"Come on" she egged, "I don't remember 30 being old enough for humans to be this slow"
"I've been through shit. My legs are allowed to be tired. I've also been out all day." He walks up next to her with less eagerness. "Ya really like animals, huh?"
"Sureeee, and it had nothing to do with you being old" she teased knowing damn well that in all technicality she was probably the same age as him.
"Of course I do. What's not to love? Every animal or creature. I love them all"
"Just cmon." He reaches behind her to push open the door.
"who do you wanna see first?*
"Brandy!" She says, turning to head out, "ooh and you said she has a friend right?"
"Yep. Brandy and the boy whiskey." He begins walking towards the stable where he left brandy.
She followed him, and once she caught sight of the horse she was off, flying over to pet the horse, "oh look at you. So beautiful. So gorgeous. The prettiest in all lands, and even more intelligent I'm sure" she took the horse face between her hands, petting her all over, "oh bet you're so fast too. Absolutely perfect" she cooed
He just smirks and leans against wood. Since he's been so isolated its been a hot second since someone has enjoyed his babies
She gave the horse a small peck on the head before her eyes landed on the other one.
"And you're whiskey I presume" she says flying over and petting him too, "handsome as expected of course. I almost want to take you with me" she says.
After giving a good dose of pets she turns to Cyro, "you're a lucky man. These precious creatures are way too good for you. In fact to plan to abduct them once you turn the other way" she says in jest, cooing at the two horses
"Oh no your wont." His smirk doesn't drop.
"Oh yeah?" She puts her hands on her hips, "what's stopping me?"
"I'll treat them well you know. Give them all the food and space they could dream of"
"Get your own. I know a good guy."
She waved her hand dismissively, "nah. I'm away from home too often for that. Besides these babies are more than enough" she posts the horse.
Then she's back next to Cyro, looking up at him, "you said something about cows?"
"You move on quickly don't you?" He chuckles. "Yes...over here." He guides her across his land to the large pen the cows were kept.
Her expression changes to see as she looks over the animals, she turns to him, "you, sir, are the richest man I've ever met"
"oh to have something as priceless as these cute little creatures"
Cyro was about to protest that he wasn't... because in money's sense he wasn't at all.
"They are amazing."
She nodded, rushing over towards the animals.
She spent most of the day with them, until she felt that she finally had more than enough energy back to magic her way back home.
She petted one of the cows, "I'm sorry but I have to leave now, baby" she cooed, before stepping away.
She turns to Cyro, "thanks by the way. I was mostly expecting to walk my way back home when I stumbled here"
"which I could have, your help was not needed" she crossed her arms, "but...it was appreciated. I'm mostly thankful for the animals though"
"Like i was going to let a little girl like you walk home all alone. Not like you couldn't handle yourself." He quite enjoyed the company. Normally he had to go out of his comfort zone for such.
"Little girl?" She gaped, "just because you're ancient doesn't mean I'm "little". Do you have vision problems?" She floated up so they were of the same height, crossing her arms.
"how old do you think I am?"
"In human years...twenty five?" It might have been a bad idea to express his opinions
She gaped, "in human time?? What am I? A dog? Also no I'm not twenty five"
"I'll have you know, that while my magic allows me to age amazingly in all technicality I've been alive...." She pauses, counting on her fingers with a few mumbles.
"35! ...or 42. Somewhere around there I don't keep track. Time is weird in other realms" she shrugs.
"But that should not matter. You, mister" she jabs her finger to his chest, "are very wrong to think of me as a child. Especially since I'll live a hundred years or two before I die"
"You act like a child"
Her jaw dropped.
"You know what? I don't care. It's not like you know me" she says, "it's like you have a death wish"
"I helped you out, yet you're still sassy. I suppose that deserves some respect." He smiles "well done."
"I don't need your respect. I just told you I don't care what you think" she glares
"And just cause you helped me out and have this farm, and those muscles, and the sweetest animals ever does not mean you can go around being rude to someone who could throw you into the shadow dimension"
"Okay. Respect will be taken back."
"okay then I also take back my respect" she glared, standing there arms crossed.
A few moments of silence before she started laughing
"You think you're hilarious huh?"
"No I just-" she giggled into her hands, "this is so stupid it's hilarious" she couldn't stop smiling
"it really is..." He chuckles
"You know what? I'll take the compliment of you thinking I'm young. Though it hardly means much coming from an old man like you" she teased
"You should."
"I will" she grins
"I could give you some beauty tips too. I get that you have this whole rough look going on and it looks good but I'm sure I can get you since nice help" she winks
"no thanks." He waves off. "I like my look."
"Hmm suit yourself. Good for you I was just about to drain your blood to keep my eternal youth" she says.
"what?"
"Kidding! Not that type of witch" she grinned.
"Now I should probably head back. As much as I love these sweet creatures I sadly can't steal them" she says, sounding genuinely sad.
"You take care of yourself. Here if ya need it."

"what?"

OPEN RP
[ALL INTERACT]
