How we fit an NES game into 40 Kilobytes

Interesting 12 min documentary in which the developers of the upcoming NES platformer Micro Mages explain how they managed to squeeze the entire game into 40 kb. The classic Super Mario Bros. only used 40 kb as well but most NES games were bigger and their size varied between 128 kb and 384 kb.

my only contribution to #Gishwhes this year. Item 17. Recreat a comic book cover out of kitchen spices. I used this variant cover of Batwoman because it’s one of my favourites. I used salt and pepper (red, kind of orange, white and black). It took aprox 30 hours.

Splatoon 2 Pro Controller and accessories for … yes, North America! ⊟

Yesssss. The Splatoon 2-themed neon and pink Pro Controller for the Switch will release in the states alongside the game on July 21! If you don’t care what’s on the pad and just want to get one as cheap as possible, the standard Pro Controller is on sale right for $6 off at Amazon.

Other colorful accessories for the game are on the way. The Deluxe Splat Pack is the coolest in my opinion – it includes a case, card case, analog caps, and a new Hori-made Joy-Con grip that adds mechanical triggers (and squid graphics). There’s also a cheaper set with no grip. And you can get a standalone case and squid-shaped card cases in pink and green, too!
