• Lucy Gray is a performer who is purposefully reaped for the 10th hunger games, a games geared more towards a fighter than a performer . Katniss is a hunter who volunteered for the 74th hunger games where it is geared towards a performer not a fighter.

• Lucy Gray falls in love more easily with Billy Taupe, then Snow. Katniss in the first chapter refuses marriage and love.

• Lucy Gray tells Snow not to count her out, while Katniss already counts herself out the moment she is picked.

• Katniss is given the penthouse or the highest floor of the tribute center and allowed to have all she can eat. Lucy Gray is thrown into a cattle car, then the zoo and is forced to perform for her food.

• Lucy Gray is hated by the mayor and his daughter, while Katniss is loved by the mayor and his daughter is her best friend.

• The interview is the easiest part of the game for Lucy Gray, while it is the hardest part for Katniss.

• Katniss befriends and mourns the youngest tribute in the games, while Lucy Gray kills the youngest tribute, Wovey.

• Where Katniss pulls of her murders in the arena with precision and makes them quick thanks to her bow and arrow, Lucy Gray’s murders are committed with thought and creativity as she lacks training with a weapon.

• After her games, Lucy Gray is forgotten easily by district twelve “who never considered her one of their own”, and is attacked by peacekeepers after her cheating. Katniss on the other hand had two of the most impoverished districts send her food and raise money for her. She was adored by the people of district twelve and she is not immediately attacked for her cheating, mostly being left alone until the victory tour.

• Lucy Gray would be forgotten by all, and her performance would unwittingly keep the hunger games going for decades. While Katniss would be remembered by all in Panem for years to come, and her refusal to play by the rules would lead to the end of the hunger games

• Lucy Gray marks Snows rise to power, while Katniss marks the end of Snow’s Era.

And how at the end of Mockingjay Katniss is mute until she talks to Snow and votes yes for another hunger games.

I've painted with acrylics before, and am familiar with liquitex and dahler-rawley student-grade paints.

But I knew that for this class I'd go through a lot of paint, so I bought a bunch of paint at walmart that i used alongside a tube of burnt umber from Michael's, a tube of cyan from a pop shop in texas, and like three partial tubes of titanium white liquitex from a local art store that closed about fifteen years ago and that I miss terribly.

This was a beginning painting class, and like a lot of beginner classes it had a bunch of basic exercises. One of the assignments was to translate an image to a grid and transfer it to a small canvas as a color study. Here's what I did:

It was a fun assignment and I liked how it looked so I pinned it to a cork board.

A couple months ago I glanced at it and noticed that maybe the cheap paints I'd gotten were somewhat less lightfast than I'd expected:

I put notes about the paints inside the canvas, only the cyan and burnt sienna (which were not the Walmart paints) had pigment, opacity, and lightfast info. Didn't bother testing the liquitex white because I know it's solid.
