What single track would you use to introduce your bg3 OC?
Thank you for tagging me in this @dearest-and-nearest! I constantly tell myself I'll get around to tags, which is easier said than done, but I decided to jump straight into this one so I don't miss the opportunity!
I'll tag: @clericblood @tillysketch @wasteful-sam @tealfling @ashprince-of-bel-air @forget-me-maybe @nerdranttheories @falcatas @sunflowerrolanadorer (no pressure!)
Okay, so… it’s been a while since I started a tag game on here, so bear with me! Apologies if something similar already exists — I did some searching, but couldn’t find anything quite like this, which is why you’re seeing this post.
I’d love for you to join in and show off the kind of genre that inspires you when creating or writing your OC💫
Include a link to the song/artist/composer
You can add more than one OC (but no more than 3)
brief canon/lore (I'm a curious sort)
(Note: Any fandom is welcome to join!! And please, don't forget to link to your fanfics so we can find them! It's time to shine, babes!)
(I'll have more pictures of her eventually. I just have a bad habit of restarting before finishing act 1)
Tav/OC name: Charrelin "Goldie" Ochredeine
Level: 15 pre-canon, 12 and lower post-canon
Race: Half-dwarf (doesn't exist in the game)
Born: Baldurian (Norchapel)
Background: Criminal/outlander
Class: Rogue (later druid)
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Love interest: Rolan
Sworn enemy: All Zhentarim. Infamous with the entire black network and openly aggressive to any Zhent, as they are to her. Not on good terms with the Guild either, though she used to belong to them.
I do have a playlist for her, but it's rather short at the moment since I am a picky bastard. I often choose songs that have lyrics that feel consistent with her character, which are hard to find. But I did choose Carry On Wayward Son by Kansas.
Once I rose above the noise and confusion
Just to get a glimpse beyond this illusion
I was soaring ever higher, but I flew to high
Though my eyes could see, I still was a blind man
Though my mind could think, I still was a madman
I hear the voices when I'm dreaming
I can hear them say
Lin thinks she knows her goal and what the right thing to do is. She sees the world in black and white, right and wrong, and has believed herself to be entirely unclouded ever since she joined the Harpers, but is given a reality check throughout the events of the game. She will inevitably lose her confidence and come crashing down.
Carry on, my wayward son
There'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more
She will push on regardless, no matter what happens to her, hoping that she'll put everything to rights after she's rooted out the evil of the Coast and hopes that when that is done, she can finally stop and return home to rest and forget everything that has happened. Leave the past behind her and stop hurting, as it is the hurt that is keeping her away from home.
Mascqeruading as a man with a reason
My charade is the event of the season
And if I claim to be a wise man, well
It surely means that I don't know
On a stormy sea of moving emotion
Tossed about, I'm like a ship on the ocean
Charrelin is, despite her determined and resolute personality, completely lost. She comes to realise that in the later acts, and in post-canon, it hits even harder how her actions haven't been entirely dictated by reason, since her reason - her "course" - has been dictated by grief and fear.
