Im rewriting the entire book of my fanfic .. I definitely feel like I can do better. I’m thinking of using some elements still from the old version, but the newer version will include: Shorter chapters ( basically word-count,) a change in Cygnus’s character ( not appearance ), and switching from first person to third person. I’ve only gotten done with two chapters so far , the rest will come by quickly I hope.

Cygnus’s outfit design has been updated in both on Ao3 and Wattpad. A little visual will help you understand what to imagine about Cygnus.

A long, deep black academy coat draped over my frame. A royal purple lining flashes beneath the hems of the flowy skirts and the loose ends of my sleeves. My violet vest fitted comfortably around me, underneath was a silky, pale tailor. The crispy white and black striped ribbon tied loosely around my neck. Black pants and pointed flat shoes completed my look, the moon-hair clip combined it all together.

Please excuse the bad quality 😭. I promise that a much cleaner version would be out soon once I figure out how to do that. The moon clip is not present because I’m still thinking of a design/color palette for it. And yes—I’m aware that I used the ceremonial robes. I couldn’t really draw the twisted wonderland style, and matter of fact I can’t draw at all, so I used the robes then designed it what I wanted Cygnus’s outfit to look like. Not too much but not too simple. And the robes were exactly what I wanted the outfit to look like.

Her appearance (such as hair, eye color, etc.) will be all said in this post! Have a nice day 🤍

?Oddly weird good memory?

Cygnus has such a good memory that it can freak people out sometimes. Even when it’s just the smallest detail, she can remember it as if it were a core memory to it. Ace even calls her an “elephant-kid” for it because the term “an elephant never forgets” originates from that ... obviously, Cygnus does NOT want to be called an elephant. Especially from Ace.

CHAPTER 1 POSTED AND AVAILABLE!

“THE RED-ROSE TYRANT.”

CYGNUS’S “UNIQUE” APPERANCE:

-As much as we know Cygnus so far, it’s pretty clear that I made her appear pretty much unique like. In the start of chapter 2, after meeting Deuce, Cygnus mentions how his short, navy hair was almost a comparison to her sapphire color. This can already explain that Cygnus does have short, sapphire hair that’s almost similar to Deuce.

-In the end of chapter 2, where the four went to Dwarf’s Mine to help Cygnus achieve this magical channeling stone, there’s a moment where Deuce sees a topaz stone which he compares it to Cygnus’s eyes.

-Reciting back to the start of chapter 2, there’s an honorable note about Cygnus’s bandages. We don’t have enough information for the reasons why Cygnus chooses to wear bandages, but we’ll know soon enough. In the epilogues, Grim and Crowley even mention it, but I didn’t explain further as to why for a reason. Also, the bandages only cover some parts along her face/hands/legs. Her neck is the only part completely covered.

-And I did not forget that Cygnus can come across as a boy in the eyes of people. Ace is currently the only person who views him as a boy—not to mock or insult Cygnus—but it’s solely the reason Cygnus appears to be a boy in his eyes because that’s what he sees when facing Cygnus. Deuce can beg to differ as he refers to Cygnus using feminine pronouns multiple times in just a couple of chapters. This leads to some confusion about Cygnus’s true identity: Ace denies it and strongly believes that she is a boy, while Deuce denies Ace’s assumption and believes that she is a girl.

-So, why doesn’t Cygnus fight back against these assumptions about her identity? It’s because she really doesn’t care. Cygnus has already developed a mindset that people are going to realize she’s a girl, but even if they didn’t, she doesn’t care. The whole purpose of her being in this school is to just reveal her powers or go home.

-Cygnus' appearance is meant to be “unique” because that’s how I interpreted her character to be. A unique character. With all the unquestionable power she possesses, transmitting to the twisted world through decades endless floating in darkness, they're all there for a reason.

-She is quite young too. Being 15 attending Night Raven would make her the youngest to enroll.

CATER DIAMOND AND CYGNUS’S RELATIONSHIP:

-Later on in the earlier chapters, Cater diamond will start to notice how different Cygnus really is. When Cygnus meets Cater, he acts like a person who already knows half of her life: what she eats, what she drinks, how she dresses…this would make Cygnus a bit intimidated by him, but that’s on purpose. He quietly observes her, curious but not wanting to push too hard. Since Cygnus is already known for her reputation due to the Dark Mirror incident, Cater wanted to be the first one to reveal herself. He starts off as performative: casually making jokes and charming her while trying to take selfies without her saying anything first. He does this but still keeps her at a distance.-

-When he realizes that none of his tactics were working and not managing to see through Cygnus, he tries a different route this time.-

-Then later on, Cater starts to treat Cygnus as if they knew each other since kindergarten. He’ll occasionally include Cygnus whenever she’s too quiet, make things less intense and stressful for her, and not ask too many questions or take pictures of her…unless she’s comfortable. Cygnus starts to warm up around Cater, realizing that her assumptions were far worse than what actually happened. Cater doesn’t do this only because he wanted her to reveal her true colors, well kinda, but he does this for Cygnus because he likes being around her, so he tends to make it easier for her.-

-Cater and Cygnus’s relationship will eventually be passed as a healthy relationship. Cygnus starts to slowly trust him without knowing why. People will slightly notice the difference between Cater’s usual behavior and Cater’s behavior whenever he’s with Cygnus—his behavior won’t change that much—just a teeny tiny bit.-

ACE TRAPPOLA AND CYGNUS’S RELATIONSHIP:

-Since Cygnus isn’t a Yuu, but a character of her own choices and mind, her impact on the storyline will drastically change which includes the relationships of the characters.-

-Ace Trappola’s relationship with Cygnus might be the biggest development in the story out of all the characters. Cygnus and Ace had shown intense hatred, hostility and disdain for each other, leading to constant fights and conflicts between them. However, every part included — or chapters — Ace will slowly start to warm up around Cygnus causing him to turn into a much considerate individual. He’ll acknowledge that his actions are the reason why Cygnus held hatred. Cygnus wasn’t going to forgive you until he can actually prove himself that he will change and not end up being a “straight up jackass,” said by Cygnus. This is obviously easier said than done, in Ace’s case. He knows that he messed up but won’t admit it through words but rather actions. Slowly taking steps and building trust with Cygnus will be enough for them to end up getting along instead of just saying “sorry” directly.-

-Though he ends up trying to make it right with Cygnus, there’s no doubt that he still holds that annoyingly taunting side of him. Still giving out those offensive jokes and half-shit ass apologies, but he still tries. He just pretends not to care. Cygnus is nevertheless still pleased that Ace is trying to make an effort, even if he doesn’t want to admit that.-
