I'm just really looking back at Limbus Company a few years in the past and it made me sad that at the time when Korean men decided to harass Vellmori and it led to her deciding to leave. A lot of fans were also dissapointed and dropped the game.
Some of those fans were artists who draw my most liked sinners, Heathcliff and Meursault (at the time, a lot of people from the EN side didn't like Heath for his tendency to get angry and his british jargons. It was rare to find those who like him and draw him pre-canto 5) and it really hurt me a lot seeing them leave the game, delete their posts about the characters, and remove their accounts which was why I got angry at those harassers in the middle of the night.
At first, I really thought those people who harassed Vellmori would just go away after a few days and everything would be alright and I'd get to see her keep making illustrations for the Cantos further in the future, but it only took hours for the harassment to get even harsher and louder. Some even decided to spread words to harm her reputation. Even worse were those who were ignorant and just followed the bandwagon and targeted her. At the very least, there were kind people who defended her and decided to inform non-Korean fans about those hateful people and the horrible words they spew.
Now, I still feel bittersweet at how it concluded. I'm glad that Project Moon's stance was to follow Vellmori's wishes and protected her privacy when all the fans were upset and confused hearing about what was happening at the time. It was like the pressure I had was suddenly lifted when Kim Jihoon himself clarified the masses about Vellmori's situation and her decision to leave, they even apologized because the situation could have been managed in a better way.
But still, I feel melancholy about Vellmori and the CGs she made about the cantos after the 4.5 intervallo (her art style is so charming) and also those artists who like the same characters and ships as me leaving the game and even deleting the content they posted online... well, at the very least, I managed to save some of them by taking screenshots. But yeah, really glad for Vellmori and hope she's happy and safe away from those weirdos.
After Vellmori left, Project Moon left the task of creating the cutscene illustration and the new sinner profiles to Nai_ga at this point a lot of the art in project moon is from that dude, he's gonna be the living embodiment of this.
Joking aside, during all of that people started noticing Nai_ga's artstyle improve so much when Seven Assoc. Faust got released and his art keeps getting better to this day.
I still love this series whole heartedly and even made me get through my more unstable states at times, even helped me better with introspection and understanding more about myself. And most importantly, made me damn cry every time! It also makes me happy to see more people notice and like Project Moon and Limbus Company (even if it attracts certain people we would NOT want to see in the community, I know the walls of text would turn them around and look for another game fingers crossed)
I really cannot wait for Canto 10 and seeing more of Meursault and Heathcliff from this point forward. I gotta put funds to KJH's Limbus Anime vault so I can see some Meursault and Heathcliff booby physics in real time :0 that's all.
