And I’m delighted to report that yes this is a Botswana specific thing (this is not just “news flash, African people can like metal too” it’s specifically a subculture in Botswana)
And it appears to have sprung up organically through students who went abroad to study bringing back cassettes and CDs of music they liked, because some of those students happened to be into metal.
