Royally screwing things up feels even worse when it most definitely is 100% only your own fault and could have been prevented with a little bit of premeditation... Why do I sabotage my own life?

"I'm not the mom friend", I say as I arrive to my friend's apartment and immediately start cleaning her kitchen

Sometimes I stop myself saying that I'm unique because I get afraid that people will think I'm just trying to be a 'snowflake'... All this while still being incredibly afraid that there actually is no one in the world who thinks similarly or does something the same way I do.

I've been fortunate enough to never have my extended family pressure me in any way regarding relationships. As in, growing up I never had to deal with well-intentioned "do do you have a boyfriend" questions or anything like that. But apparently me turning 25 means that they're finally starting to wonder, since I've never dated anyone, and they're starting to ask questions... A.k.a. The story of how I forgot I actually haven't come out to my grandparents
