LOMBAX DIMENSION: DISREGARDING ENGINEERING IN FAVOR OF TRAINING AS PRAETORIAN GUARD

Due to being the son of the Keeper, LOTS OF HIGH EXPECTATIONS were aimed at Conlan to be exactly like his father and to follow in his footsteps. To many, this would be considered as a huge honor and the envy of others. For Conlan? To him, he feels like he’s drowning in his father’s shadow when he really wants to be recognized for his own deeds and actions. Because of this, this made him dead set on differentiating himself.

It started with growing out his mane and getting ear piercings.

Then came the sense of dress style and the rebellious attitude he then adopted as his own. And yes he also had the occasional fist fights.

And finally to really go against all expectations was dumbing himself down a bit to make himself look like a disappointment before choosing to join the Praetorian Guard path. He still has his gift for inventing, just hides it instead of flaunting it and he happily takes his mother’s lessons in engineering and aircraft.

All for the sake of not being seen by others as a clone of Kaden.

    XJ-0461 listened carefully, his internal workings quickly translating the language spoken to him.  Though he only knew how to speak very few — such as common and robotic —- the translator that came with his programming came in handy often ; especially now.  It wasn’t the first time he came across someone else who didn’t speak common.  Lucky for the robot, he seemed to understand it nevertheless.

    ❝ Perhaps.  Is your family friend here in this galaxy?  I can try my best to assist you, but- ❞     The small robot narrowed green optics as he looked around them in the surrounding area, as if someone would enter this abandoned facility at any given moment.     ❝ -Doctor Nefarious has eyes everywhere.  You are not safe here, and he cannot find out I’m helping an organic. ❞

It’s a major relief to the disguised Lombax that robots are at least able to translate what he’s saying without having to resort to using small words. It felt awkward to do so. Made him feel like a complete idiot than what he normally advertises.

Aside from that, he now has a name to identify the dictator wannabe. A Tachyon wannabe nonetheless. Now he just needs a face to go along with it.

And while the armor he wears protects him from being identified by Lombax scanners, obviously it won’t protect him from being identified as an organic. A slight setback, but the most brilliant of his kind never did once consider a possible robot domination scenario.
