Curious Whale News

So I kinda left this poor little site to itself for a little, my bad. Uni's been busy and shizzle but I'm not going to make excuses. I am, however, going to be spending a little time in the near future completely redesigning the website, so that it's just the comics, and everything else is a little branch off that.

Just moved into a new house and there's... DUN DUN DUUUUUN ... no Internet. So I've not really had a chance to keep the site as fresh as need be, but here's two new comics for your ocular pleasure (one and two).

Yeah, it’s been a while. Basically, I’ve been the most unmotivated guy in the universe, and the website’s taken a bit of a backseat, to the point where my hosting was about to expire and I was debating whether to renew or not. Enter Dave to the rescue! Thanks to my glorious homeboy, Curious Whale will be brought to you for the forseeable future! Now to do some actual stuff with it…

To celebrate this most auspicious event, you may notice a little orange clickety-click in the sidebar. I’ve also done a little comic to co with it, which you should check out!

Hello, my lovelies. Sorry for being so distant for the last few months. Truth is, it's been a little hectic here with University stuff and family stuff, and what with Curious Whale being pretty much a one-man show it's been a little neglected lately. Anyway, enough excuses, let's get on with what I'm working on...

With the founding of Curious Whale Studios, here's some of the projects I'm ankle-deep in at the moment:

A dungeon-crawler game for iOS - Getting the solid code down is the trickiest part, I can pretty much do the music and some of the graphic design, but I'll probably be partnering up with someone for that.

A new album, and soundtrack music for a game for a few friends. That's all I can say at the moment :P

Tumblr intergration for this site, so writing the news isn't so tedious and is a little more dynamic. Stronger Facebook integration to come soon (but you can always like and share any comics your particularly enjoyed and arbitrary numbers do wonders for my self-esteem!)

A PHP page that 'knows' what the latest comic released is. I might also start putting dates on the comics. I might not. Whatever.

Today I managed to migrate the comics to the new system, which means they all work (except the first 5)! Also we've got Facebook like buttons on each comic, so if you like one then show your love! Or don't, whatever.

Hello again my lovelies. I've just updated the site to a new swanky look, with little doodles and everything. Soon to come will be Facbeook like buttons and the rest of the comics, along with a new projects page where all the random stuff I work on can play nice together.

The comics are still being a pain; there's 44 of them to convert to the new layout and I'm still trying to figure out the best way of doing it. Again, I'll probably end up writing it all out by hand, but there we go. So bear with me now, we'll be back to full steam as soon as you can say "pointless late-night endeavour".

Hello my lovelies! Some of the most eagle-eyed of you may have noticed that there have been some changes to the homepage; I've been hard at work spending over several hourscoding a website that hopefully looks a little better! The comics are a little more fiddly (with almost 50 HTML pages to fiddle with and apply the new design to), and I want to make sure everything looks as close to presentable as possible, so it might take a little while :P

Also you might notice a little ad banner over there --> ... Don't worry, I'm not going to be spamming you with garbage, and I can't be bothered to set up advertising, so I'll just use it to have fun and fiddle with; I need to make a Flash banner for my degree course, and my site seemed like the perfect platform!

Lastly, I'm trying to find a content management service for the site that works the way I want it to, so until then it looks like I'm still writing in pure HTML! Anyway, I'll let you get on.
