this is just about the sweetest ask I’ve ever received and I really do relate to it ☺️ I’ve embraced that giving genuine compliments is about 80% of my personality haha!

I think it’s a really beautiful thing to give compliments to people and to let them know how much we love them, or how much we love something they’ve done. 

I would go ahead and tell him that you like his new hairstyle - you never know how much a compliment like that can mean to a person. it tells them that you really see them, and that is really damn important. 

as hard as it can be, please try not to doubt yourself with this. it’s a beautiful thing to want to make others feel as beautiful as you see them. you have a gift and you are very special. 

So I’ve had a crush on this boy since the start of the school year (about 3 months) we talk a bit during our 6th period and we walk home together, I flirt with him- sometimes and apparently my friends are convinced that he likes me, some things they’ve said before is something like

“I saw him staring at you it’s so cute”

Or “He’s been acting different since you’ve come into his life, he’s more energetic and happy”

I really like him but I’m scared of being rejected, especially since there are two girls he always hangs out with and I’m kinda convinced on of them likes him, on that topic, I also overheard that people in their classroom is lowkey betting that the two of them will start dating yeah I know it’s kinda petty but my little heart keeps self deprecating 🥺

awesome to hear that you’re taking little risks and flirting a bit here and there. I’d suggest maybe bringing up his girl friends and chatting to him about it. when you do this, and it’s hard I know, try to separate yourself from it a bit. really listen to the way he talks about them and how he seems to feel when he does without over-analysing it. he’ll appreciate the effort and you’ll be able to get a bit of an insight into how he seems to view them. 

you could always take a bit of a risk and see if he wanted to go grab a coffee or something after school as a bit of a casual extension of your current routine, but only if you feel comfortable doing so!

try to enjoy this time with him, be an active participant in the conversations, and pay attention to the way that he acts around you - he’s probably really grateful to have you in his life.

this is the sweetest part of a new crush - the early stages where it’s new and exciting, but also very confusing.

I think the best things you can do are to keep talking to him where you can, maybe push the chats a little bit in a flirty direction every now and then, or just give him some sweet compliments and then, above all, notice how he responds. 

it’s really easy advice to give and very hard to put into practice but really just try to enjoy talking to him without worrying too much about where it’s going to go. sometimes we ruin our best memories with overthinking and he probably really enjoys just getting to know you at this stage.

I think it's important that you don't let whether she is there or not affect your enjoyment of the library. think of it as a bonus when she is there, but enjoy the study as a space for you as well.

I'd say go for it, have some fun with your friends and enjoy your time there.

as to whether she lied to you, I think there are lots of factors involved there. if it was her, she may have just decided to go to the library at the last minute and didn't think she needed to let you know because she's only seen you there once, or maybe it wasn't even her.

go to the library if you'd like to and if you see her, wave or say hello and see what happens. trust your intuition with her response.

my crush is in the same form class as me, tutor group if you will, and ive been pining over him for 3 years now. people were usually shipping us together due to the fact that i was the only girl he really talked to. hes also given me a lift home cause we live near each other and he has come over multiple times. i only really started getting close to him a year ago and now hes quite comfortable with me. however, recently hes been talking to this girl a lot. shes one of the pretties, most popular girls in our grade and usually hes quite closed off and unwilling to speak, shying away from physical contact. however, with her, hes so- different. he laughs and smiles. ive seen him stare at her before. he lets her play with his hair and draw on his hands. although i think he would let me if i tried and all my friends say that hes just being friendly, i cant help but wonder if hes also just being friendly to me. is he just leading me on? my friends say to pursue him and that he treats me the same and better. i know he talks to me more then her but i cant help but feel jealous. maybe im just overthinking it and being possesive.｡ﾟ(ﾟ´Д｀ﾟ)ﾟ｡( ´Д`)y━･~~

I think this kind of thing is really tricky because we never really know what's going on inside someone else's mind. it sounds like he really cares about you and that he's starting to get to know this other girl as well. if you think you can stomach it, I'd honestly have a chat to him about it. maybe don't confess your feelings if you don't feel ready to yet, but maybe just say that she seems really nice and see what he says about it. there's a good chance that he just enjoys her company and isn't even thinking of her in that way, and similarly there's a chance that he is starting to develop feelings but it's too soon to tell.

my advice would be to enjoy the times that you have with him, remember how amazing you are, and have the chat with him if you think you can.

please remember that no matter what happens, you're loveable and worthy.

ooh I definitely remember this feeling! it can be so scary to think about messaging or chatting to people that we like, especially if they’re in the year above us! 

my suggestion would be to follow him on social media, especially something like instagram if he/you have it because then when he posts something, you could send a direct message prompted by it relating to something you both have in common! it’s a foolproof way to initiate contact in a non-committal way and it gives you something to launch off of so it doesn’t feel as weird if it doesn’t go the way you want it to. 

overall, my advice would be that no matter how you attempt to contact him, remember your worth - you’re a beautiful person and it can be really easy to get down if the person that we like doesn’t reciprocate or doesn’t reply to our attempts to get to know them, but please know that he is so lucky to have someone like you see him so highly, and that no matter what happens and no matter how it makes you feel, you have a beautiful future ahead of you and there will be a special person in it, whether it’s him or someone else.
