Was thinking about how Amanda and Wooly’s respective breakdowns are also the thesis statements of their characters…

Amanda

The difference in their reason for crashing out in these scenes are like day and night istg.

Amanda is having a breakdown if you say NO to helping the kitten and essentially, helping HER. She’s breaking down because she’s so desperate to free herself from the chains of this hell and her only way to get there is to call for help from the outside, and that help was just denied by someone she thought she could trust. Years and years of suffering and she’s denied any help.

Wooly, however, is crashing out because of his selfish desire to stay INSIDE the show and stay in his little fantasy where everything’s fine and Amanda DEFINITELY wants to be his friend. He wants to maintain trapped in this world and is yelling at Amanda for ruining his “paradise”, saying she’s never thought about what he wants (which is crazy cuz she’s the child here), meanwhile he couldn’t give less of a shit about what she wants, which is to get out.
