Curating Consciousness

As this is an ongoing public research/could be dialogue… this is just a thought that arose.  I contemplated for a bit, and hope to sit down to express a broader idea.

The Integral community (myself included) is obsessed with the question What is Integral Art?.  I had this vision-thought that Integral Art isn’t here yet, but the aspiration to create it is.  If anything, it is in its very infantile stages.  

Before I write about this more, I’d like to read again Wilber’s thoughts, as well as others in the community.

Short Synopsis: 

There is the whole strand (West Coast) of the abstract movement that fell/wasn’t as favorable as the line drawings of/predominant in (East Coast) the movement underway in New York City.

Onslow was an independent thinker/creative.  He believed the fourth dimension was consciousness itself, which was always evolving.  He was also among Abstract artists who aligned more with Jung, the majority who aligned with Freud.  Also, you had Einstein’s 4th dimension theory as Time itself.

This is the kind of meaty context that Integral Theory loves to discuss.  Perhaps in further inquiry, I can create a dialogue uniting the differing understandings of the 4th dimension, and also the Freudian/Jungian debate.

As time permits, I hope to write a bit of an introduction.

Jonah Cacioppe - I Am

My artistic practice aims at enquiring into the nature of consciousness, in particular the experience of non-dual consciousness, described by many of the world’s great philosophies and religions, such as Advaita Vedanta and Zen.

They suggest that our consciousness and life itself is in essence a unified whole, peaceful, undivided and limitless, the substratum upon which all of life exists.

Much of my work aims to reflect and explore this state of non-dual awareness and the expression of our Being within the awesome, beautiful and messy wonder of life.

“A is for Artist”— To your left is photographer Shaun Behrent.  Although the space was tight with people, we found some time to drop.  I really like Shaun’s perspective… it gives new meaning to his familiar subjects, like a fixture of Coney Island.  

And what is creativity but freedom?  And what is freedom, but the choosing of More… real creativity focuses on what is possible, and not merely what is wrong.
