While Shauna flaunted Melissa, I think she'd be the opposite way with Lottie and almost think of it as a secret. Tai would walk in on a moment of intimacy and she would quickly/awkwardly withdraw.

Something about Lottie is too sensitive, their power dynamic too fragile and volatile. Shauna, for whatever reason, doesn't want people to know she cares for Lottie.

While Shauna saw her feelings towards Melissa as elevating her/doing her a favor, she can't quite have that dynamic with Lottie. She would worry more about how it's perceived by the others. She has felt the need to practically go "I'm not staying because of you don't think I care about you!!" in front of everyone. It was important to her to do that haha, make a display of how little Lottie means to her - despite the opposite being true.

#her dynamic with Lottie is honestly unlike any other relationship she has or had #and i think it would be very in character for them to be each others little secret if they ever were to become intimate #i do think that it would mostly be Shauna who would want it to be hidden #because we all know how openly weird and obsessive lottie is towards Shauna #but I don’t think lottie would have a problem with being hidden #as long as she had Shauna #and about the difference between Melissa and the concept of lottieshauna intimacy #I think shauna just doesn’t see Melissa as an equal #in a relationship #or as a person #and it’s not even about her being younger than Shauna #it’s about Melissa lacking a certain trait/traits #and whether Shauna would want to admit it or not #she does revere lottie #despite Lott not even technically being the leader #her word is still law and shauna knows it without question #lottie is power and violence #and shauna is canonically drawn to both #sorry i know I’m yapping but your posts always get me thinking #but lastly #i always do wonder what the true reason is as to why Shauna can’t show her affection towards lottie #because we know canonically that she did and does have affection for her when we saw the dead wife flashbacks #too much guilt ? too much sadness ? too complicated?#butcherqueen #lottieshauna

when im extra delusional i tell myself they cut the "I'll do anything" scene because it obviously put them in the romantic zone and they're hiding that twist similar to how they're hiding whatever is going on with cabin daddy.

it was actually pretty damaging to cut it because it gives a lot of perspective to Shauna's motivations - she lets Javi die and gathers the guts to butcher him specifically out of desperation to save Lottie. That's the "anything" she promised.

It's a big deal because Javi wasn't really close to any of the girls except for Shauna and she had some affection for him. Yet, she's the one that tells everyone to wait so he can drown. It's not a small sacrifice... which is probably why she can still so easily be cold to Lottie after everything. She feels squared up in that respect.

#i don’t think it’s delusional #bc it’s the way that they haven’t just deleted one super important scene #it’s the fact that they’ve taken out MULTIPLE #there was a scene in particular they took out that im rlly mad about #it was in s1 and Lottie was sick or had this infection that made her feverish #and she was scared and asked Shauna if she was going to die #to which Shauna tried to comfort her and tell her that she would be ok #I’m telling you guys they have had lottieshauna in mind since the beginning and I will die on that hill #and as op said #I think they’ve taken out scenes bc it would’ve put them in a romantic zone too early #lottieshauna really feels like a slowburn #and s3 was the end of the slowness and s4 will actually be the burning #lottieshauna #butcherqueen
