I'm seeing Charlie Puth tomorrow and I can't sleep...

This is gonna get a little sad, and a little creepy but it's all true On this day in 2001, I was 5 years old. I was sitting on my couch with my mom. My dad and sister were at the store and my twin sister was upstairs playing music. We heard the music turn off and my sister started talking to someone. "OK, I love you" was the only thing I heard. She walks down the stairs to where me and my mom are sitting and says "Aunt Shelly said she's okay and to not be sad. She loves us." I was weirded out but brushed it off and continued watching TV. 15 minutes go by and the phone started ringing. My mom answered it and began to cry. My dad walked in the door and started comforting her. I'm freaking out but my sister is calm. After my mom has settled a little she takes me and my sisters and sits us down explaining that my aunt has been murdered and that she died. She didn't tell us how or who did it but I tried to be strong, for my mom, but tears ran down my face and I couldn't control it. She explained that she had to go to her house so we were dropped off at our friend's house and we stayed the night. My sister didn't cry, she was almost happy so I asked her why she wasn't sad. "I knew aunt Shelly died. She told me she was okay and she loved us so it doesn't hurt that bad." I couldn't find words to say. I heard her talking and I put 2 and 2 together. My sister talked to my aunt after she passed away and when she told us she was okay and loved us, it was her reassuring us for the news that we were about to receive. To this day, I tell this story every time the subject comes up. People sometimes ask me to tell it. I think it's amazing. I miss her every day and wish I didn't have this story to tell and wish it was her telling me stories but, I have to be strong. We have the same birthday so, I always put an extra candle on the cake. I know we would be close. My grandmother always says that we are both goofballs and I remind her of you in so many ways. I'll always love you, and I'll always miss you 👼💕
