💫To Be A Man💫

Thrilled I get to post my part of @ghostsharkpress ‘s transology zine before pride month ends. Our prompt was to recontextualize a formative childhood cartoon through the lense of transness/gncness.

The first outfit is labeled as Shallan - Travelling (Start of Way of Kings). This is distinguished by bright colors, more juvinile, and not a lot of money for fabrics. A few different arrows point out lots of buttons, a versatile feature for growing kids; shorter, lighter, looser havah for better movement; visible buttons on the safehand for easy access; a petticoat that is easy to wash and has a detachable hem; and another petticoat underneath that can be added. Shallan's hair is loose around her shoulders in this. It is also noted that the petticoat would be tied around the waist for a slipper figure, and she is wearing a shirt with sleeves underneath the havah, which is sleeveless.

The second outfit is labeled as Shallan - Formal Dinner, distinguished by "only wear it once" type of outfit, more mature, doesn't quite feel like her. Her hair is done up with elaborate accessories. Other notes on this point out it is a single fabric silk havah — very expensive; tighter fit; long, draped safehand sleeve that's unpractical but elegant; no detachable hem (difficult to wash). This havah looks much fancier than the previous one, it's an almost shiny dark blue with red clasps.
