“i seriously hate valentines day, is there something wrong with me having an exciting game of spin the bottle with my single friends or having a one night stand with a complete stranger? like screw the fact that i haven’t ever had a valentine, that’s pretty much my fault and i don’t want to. why does the saddest most mushy gushy and awful holiday have to be on the day i was born?”

“i guess you’re right. about it being a shitty holiday, i mean,” ridley noted with a quirk of their eyebrow. “it’s kind of awesome that it’s your birthday, though, if you think about it. you could just pretend valentine’s day doesn’t even exist and it’s just your day. i’ll even make you a cake, if you want.”

“trust me, not as much as you are right now. anyone that continuously smokes me out, has a special spot in my heart,” she smirked, patiently waiting for them to enjoy the first hit before taking her turn. “seriously, i love you,” she mumbled as she held in the burning smoke.

“i’ll smoke you out any time you want, babe,” ridley promised, watching the smoke fill the air between them before gently taking the joint back. they stretched their arms, feeling the gentle, calm buzz wrapping around their mind. “that’s how i make friends: i bribe them with drugs.”

“hell yeah,” monica practically squealed, “i knew there was a reason i liked you!” chuckling at them, she nodded quickly, digging out the lighter from her back pocket. “don’t worry babe, i got you – ” she chirped, handing ridley the red bic. 

“you’re a lifesaver,” ridley shot her a grin, starting the lighter with their thumb and letting the flame ignite the joint in their hand. ridley hit it first, taking a long, slow inhale before they passed it to monica. 

“i think so.” lux pursed their lips. “i’m pretty sure i did. i don’t know, i might have been high when i was eating it last and possibly forgot to label it.”

ridley snorted. “you were definitely high. you knocked on my door last night and when i asked who it was, you said you didn’t know.”

“not when it comes to my precious life. eh, i could’ve done worse,” she shrugged with a grin. “thanks babe. i appreciate it. shit, i’ll hit you up right now. let’s do it!”

ridley cracked a grin, reaching to the drawer on their bedside table to pull out an already-rolled joint. “i’m always prepared,” they told monica with a half-smile. ridley fumbled around in the drawer for their lighter, but came up empty handed. “shit. maybe not that prepared. any chance you got a light?”

“We should invite everyone who doesn’t have a valentine and that likes pickles to our pickle date.”

“lonely hearts club? sounds good to me.”

If I see another leoperd skinned, pink fluro skinny jean motherfucker, it’s world war three. 

"i believe that is what most people call an overreaction,” ridley told her, stifling a laugh. “for the record, though, i agree with you.”

“You’re right about that. We could get both?”

“i’m definitely in. it’s a date. a pickle date, but a date nonetheless.”

“ – y’know, i was all excited to come home. this bitch just passed a major kinesiology presentation and was all ready for a celebratory smoke… but the moment i stepped through the door, i nearly tripped and died over someone’s goddamn shoe. they were a nice ass pair of white adidas superstars - so if they’re yours, you can go fish them out of the pool. ”

“jesus, you don’t fuck around, do you? fuckin’ savage. they kinda deserved it, though,” ridley conceded. “and congrats on your presentation, boo. hit me up if you still wanna smoke.”
