Further analysis of St Andrews church identifying the original and the added 

Series of sketches investigating how to layer a building up and around an existing building 

Each of the churches choosen represents a church which has had major restoration or renovation works carried out in its life time . I was interested in highlighting this change and so the drawing above shows in each church the part which had been changed, the part of the church which was ‘lost’ due to the changes 

As an initial form finding exercise i used each of the churches along the pilgrims was in their correct position and kept at a relative scale . I then stretched and compressed the length of the pilgrims was making the churches grow farther or closer apart ,overlapping each other.
