The Oceanic Steam Navigation Company, commonly known as White Star line, was a British Shipping company.  While other shipping companies focused primarily on speed, White Star branded their services by focusing more on providing steady and comfortable passages, for both upper class travellers and immigrants.   The infamous loss of RMS Titanic in 1912 and other mishaps such as loss of their other passenger liners- RMS Atlantic at Halifax in 1873, the sinking of RMS Republic off Nantucket in 1909; came as a big blow to the company. Even after that White star line continued to operate. The chairman of White star line Bruce Ismay was heavily criticised after the sinking as he was the highest ranking official to have survived the sinking Despite its casualties, the company retained a prominent hold on shipping markets around the globe before falling into decline during the Great Depression, which ultimately led to a merger with its chief rival, Cunard Line, which operated as Cunard-White Star Line for quite some time. The merger took place on 10th May 1934, creating Cunard-White Star Limited. White Star contributed ten ships to the new company while Cunard contributed 15 ships. Because of this, and since Hull 534 was Cunard's ship, 62% of the company was owned by Cunard's shareholders and 38% of the company was owned for the benefit of White Star's creditors by White Star Lines.

The South China Sea is a marginal sea that is a part of the Pacific Ocean encompassing an area of about 3,500,000 sq. km. It is the second most used sea lane in the world. The sea carries immense strategic importance – one-third of world shipping passes through the sea carrying over $3 Trillion in trade every year. It contains lucrative fisheries that are crucial for the food security of millions and huge oil and gas reserves. The sea and its mostly uninhabited islands are subject to competing sovereignty claims by several countries such as China, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia among others.  

China has a historical claim over the entire sea called the “Nine Dash Line”. In accordance with this claim, the Chinese are building islands in this region to benefit from the extensive resources and at the same time gain control over the entire region by creating military bases and positioning naval vessels in the sea. The Nine Dash Line is unlawful under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) which has given rise to territorial disputes and intervention of countries such as the United States of America.

The Government of China has issued a tender notice inviting companies to build islands in the South China Sea.  

You have to create a detailed project report in order to get the tender offer.
