Another drabble? yessirrrr another fucked up drabble YESSSIRRRR
DCFPU Prompt Used: Turtles & Surface
Word Count: 522
Content Warning: Mentions of blood/implied death
Will get posted to ao3 this week for sure
You'd never been scared of dying before. Sure it had been a passing thought, but never a serious one.
You think that Sun's going to kill you. Once he finds you, that is.
Because this was utterly and entirely, your fault. And maybe you deserved it, truthfully.
You'd wanted to go watch the turtles hatch together, the three of you. You thought it would be fun, thought it would be safe. Just a quick visit to the surface, that's all it would be.
It took some convincing, but Moon finally caved when you gave him a kiss and a pout. Blushing and mumbling 'As long as it's quick'.
Sun would have joined you, if he wasn't tired. Said to go on without him, tell him about it when the two of you get back and to be careful as always.
Was he still sleeping now, you wonder. Would you have to go home and wake him up, would you? You know for certain that if you do, if you tell him what happened, it'll be on the spot. No hesitation. He loved you, yes. But Moon was different. It wasn't the same kind of love, but it ran much, much deeper.
If he hadn't stayed behind, perhaps you wouldn't be here, but you'll never know. Neither will Moon.
You're still in denial. You swear any moment now, Moon will wake up, hurt but alive. He'll tease you for worrying about him, grin that cheeky grin, and snicker as you sob and stop yourself from beating him up because he's injured. You'll go home, get scolded by Sun together, and everything will be okay. It has to be.
He's so warm, lying here in your arms.
Closer. You'd wanted to get just a little closer. It was so hard to see anything with all the humans in the way. No respect for nature, the lot of them. They were going to scare the poor baby turtles.
Just hide behind a rock closer to the shore, that's all you'd wanted to do. Moon had hesitated. Maybe that hesitation would have saved him in a different reality. Saved you both, you think, coughing wetly, ignoring the blood that splatters across your hand.
Everything had been going so well. The closer rock was the perfect vantage point for the two of you.
Unfortunately, it was also the perfect vantage for you to be spotted.
It was chaos in an instant. Screams, yelling, shouting. You flee, Moon's hand gripping yours so tight you felt his claws draw blood.
You hadn't expected the boats in the water nearby.
The... agression, humanity could show, showed you both, you'd never be able to comprehend it.
Moon protected you, as best he could, and it'd cost him. But the worst part was—you cough again, weaker—you think it may have all been in vain.
Your vision is darkening, you're starting to feel... cold.
You hug Moon closer to you, beginning to shiver and convulse as your eyes droop closed.
You almost hope Sun never finds you. You don't want him to think you deserving of mourning.
But you'll never know, will you?
nothing like a one-two punch to the face with some quick death and dying with the dca huh?
anyway thank you for readingggg

Word Count: 2091
You have to suppress your yawn as you clock in for your shift. Buzzing of the dim overhead lights in your ears as you slide on your security jacket. Not a good start, to say the least.
You'd stopped at the gas station on your way in, but forgot to grab a coffee with your honey bun. You didn't realize until after you'd pulled back onto the road, and didn't want to chance being late. Vanessa's been in a mood lately, you don't need to test it.
Now all you had were sticky hands and the beginnings of a sugar crash. You weren't going to try your luck with the breakroom coffee machine, either. Not after you found out no one's been replacing the grounds besides you.
You can, however, go to the bakery and make yourself a cup there. You don't think there's anything illegal about that, as long as you don't get caught, anyway. They sell espresso and you can't deny, it's pretty good for mall coffee.
You double check your gear and close your locker, heading out to start your patrol for the night.
Switching to the night shift was still an adjustment for you, two months in. You think that's why you weren't sleeping so well. Your body still was firmly in the mindset of being awake during the daylight hours.
You however, got much better pay working nights, so you really needed yourself to adjust already.
Usually you weren't this exhausted either. Standard levels of tired sure, but it'd built up after several nightmares the past few nights.
You blamed it on all the other guards talking about what happened to that poor kid during a round of fazerblast last week.
Malfunctioning staff bot, blinding lasers, lots and lots of blood and screaming—you shake your head. You don't know how someone could make a broken arm sound so gruesome, but they'd managed.
Either way, you're pretty sure that's what set you off your already rocky path, leaving you with a heavy feeling in your limbs and a hazy state of mind.
You're hoping you'll sleep good when you get home, but for now you have to power through. You need that coffee sooner rather than later though—
Jingling bells, followed by a soft snicker.
You scan your flashlight around the hallway leading into storage. Man, they should really clean up around here. That's not your problem, however.
Another snicker before you locate the source.
You always hear him before you see him. The glowing red eyes in the dark never coming into focus until it's too late. But you always enjoy the company, when he behaves, that is.
"Evening Moon." You say, swallowing your yawn with careful intent now.
He rises from his hiding place behind some boxes, faceplate spinning once as he walks over to you. "Hello, Moonlight. Fancy running into you here..."
"Uh huh. How long were you waiting back there?" You nod to the boxes.
Hands clasped behind his back as he turns to now stand beside you. "Long enough..."
You snort, continuing down the hall now with him by your side.
You know you don't need to, given his status as partial security he's probably checked this hall three times over before you even got here. You just like to be sure, though, so you patrol it anyway.
Once you're done, you head back the way you came, back toward a more open section of the Plex. When you do, Moon sticks to the shadows along your path, having memorized exactly where to move in order to maintain control of the body over Sun.
You talk idly. Which, mostly consists of you yapping at him. Not that you've ever minded. Moon's quiet quips and comments were always somehow enough for your chatty nature when on a roll.
Tonight though, something's off. He's near silent, barely giving you one-word remarks as you talk about your day—well, evening—before coming to work. You initially think he might be mad at you, but then it clicks as to what's happening when he finally does speak.
"Your heart rate is... slower than usual." It's a simple observation, but it's never that simple with Moon.
You shrug. "I haven't had my coffee yet, thanks for the reminder though, actually."
You start to turn out towards the bakery, attempting to put a gap between the two of you with the light, but he manages to catch your arm, tugging you back into the dark.
Tugging you back into the dark and very close to him, you should clarify.
His eyes narrow to crescents as he scans your face closely, bent to be at your level. Outwardly you huff, internally you're panicking slightly. You don't need him harping on you about sleep, not tonight.
Sure enough though—"Did you sleep last night?"
"Of course I did. Seven whole hours." You beam, excluding the fact those seven hours were interwoven with disruption after disruption. It still counted as a full rest in your eyes.
A soft tap to under one eye. "You have bags... And redness. You've been walking sluggishly too."
"I have not." You tilt your chin up.
Your head is tilted back down to look at him. "Have so~"
You don't answer, simply stare at him. He stares back. You could do this for hours, you're stubborn enough for it.
Were you not as exhausted as you were, anyway.
"Okay! So I'm a little tired, but it's fine! Nothing a bit of coffee and some laps can't fix, right?" You ask.
"You need sleep. Not to exhaust yourself more..."
You put your hands together. "Well consider the following."
"Considering." He quips.
You shrug. "Sleep is for the weak, and I am not weak."
Moon's faceplate clicks to the left twice. Before he can think about doing anything though, you slip out of his hold and well into the light.
He makes a noise between a tsk and a grumble and you wave your hand. "I'm telling you I'm fine. Now you can come with me to get my espresso, or you can stand there glowering until the morning hours."
"I can't glower, Star." Though he does move along the shadows in the direction of the bakery. "And you can only stay awake for so long."
You grin, walking along with him, though keeping your distance. Just to be safe.
Once at the bakery, you make sure all the lights are on. It's not that you don't trust Moon but, well...
You make your drink, and sit with him on a bench in a darkened corner as you sip it.
"Mm. Already feeling it kick in." Which, truthfully is a lie. The coffee is warm, lulling. You hope the caffeine kicks in sooner rather than later.
Moon's hat jingles as he leans in, examining you close.
You raise your eyebrows, doing your best to not give away how flustered—or tired—you are.
Unfortunately for you, he's good at his job. "Liar."
"You can't prove a thing." You chide, taking another sip.
He takes your cup, depositing it into the trash. "You need a nap."
"I'm on the clock, that's not an option." You frown, looking at the trash. "And I wasn't done with that, thank you very much." You were basically done, but that wasn't the point.
Moon scoffs. "Take a short one. No one will know."
"You'll know."
"I don't count." A poke to your forehead. "You need sleep to do your job. If you didn't know..."
You huff, gently pushing his hand away as you stand up, brushing yourself off. "I'm well aware. I'll get plenty when I get off shift, okay?"
Moon stands, but says nothing. Then, he bends his knees, and is gone. From the sound of bells up above, you surmise he's jumped up to the rafters. You... take that as meaning he's not entirely mad? It's always so hard to tell with him really. Him and Sun both.
He still follows you as you continue your patrol, albeit from above.
As you survey the Plex, he still continues to try and urge you to rest. Bugging you on your radio and above you too. You ignore him and carry on, even if you do feel like you're dragging at some points.
It's a little over halfway through your shift when you notice Moon begins lagging behind. Not only that, he comes down to follow behind you on the ground, closely.
Paying closer attention to his steps, they're slow, calculated. His demeanor has changed as well. More giggly, cheery, despite his insistence that you nap.
It's when his words click to you as nonsensical muttering do you realize what's happened.
Usually, Moon would take breaks once an hour to go charge. Part of the reason why Fazbear couldn't keep just robots like him on staff.
But, since he's spent... literally the entire night with you trying to get you to go to sleep, he's drained himself. You're surprised he's even half-functional, usually they needed to charge minimum every three hours. If you had to guess most of his power was gone, and he'd need to recharge sooner rather than later.
You really don't want to drag his three hundred pound metal ass to a charging port, so you immediately try to get a handle on things. "Moon, when's the last time you charged?"
"Sssometime... earlier..." A giggle. "Why...?"
You huff heading to the nearest charging port, which you think is down the side hall by the gift shop you're near. "Because for someone who likes to harp so much about getting proper rest, you haven't."
"Busy, busy... with you... forgot..." A small stumble, you jump back just to be safe.
Once he recovers, swaying on jingling feet, you decide to bite the bullet, grabbing his hand to lead him along. You ignore the flush on your cheeks at your actions.
"Come on, you need to charge before you collapse, Fazbear definitely won't be happy then."
Moon's slender fingers intertwine with yours. It's not a comfortable grip, him being made of metal and all, but it works as you start marching to the charging station.
Moon doesn't respond at first, just following behind. Then suddenly—
"You're.... holdinggg my hand..." He says, and glancing back you see his faceplate is pointed down at your grip. "We're holding handsss..."
You bite down the feelings in your chest. "Yes Moon, we're holding hands."
No verbal response. Instead, he just snickers. Not a giggle this time, he's absolutely aware in that moment.
Your face burns hotter but you keep looking straight ahead, hoping that he's too out of it to think and scan for your heartrate.
The dim glow of the charging station is like a beacon to you when you finally come upon. Practically throwing the Attendant's hand away from you once you arrive.
You stand back clapping your hands once. "Well, here we are. Charge and I'll meet you back on patrol in an hour, okay? And don't try anything like this again or I'll-"
You're cut off by Moon grabbing your wrist, spinning you around and back into his hold. You protest but he shushes you, slipping into a chuckle.
With one arm around you, he uses the other to grab the charging cable, plugging it firmly into the back of his head. You hear a click, and then he slides down the wall, taking you with him.
He's still conscious like this, just immobile, his snicker right by your ear reminds you of this.
"If I have to rest... so do you..." A yawn, which you know isn't actually real. "So... get comfortable..."
You scoff. "Moon this is ridiculous, I don't want to get in trouble with Nessa—"
"You won't... promise... Now sleep..." As if to solidify you're trapped, his other arm comes to rest around you.
You try one more time to break free, but even just his arms are too heavy for you. You sigh. "Fine. Whatever. I don't even care anymore. For your information though I'm not tired at this point. Taking care of you got me wide awake..."
"Try anyway..."
You mutter your response, eyes closing since you don't have a choice. You don't think that you'll sleep at all at this point, but you will try.
You don't remember falling asleep, nor does Moon recall the exact moment he slipped into stasis. Nonetheless, both occur near simultaneously, leaving you slouched against each other in the quiet hall. Getting the rest you both ended up ultimately needing.
Though, you'll never admit to that.
They're so cute i absolutely despise them awwww <3
