ă Chilling Return ă
[ Apologies for the wait, little guppies. But you'll have to remain patient. My services will be back in order in some time, but for now, there will be some slow responses.
I hope this quells the darkness; even for just a moment. ]

Falling, fluttering down, and collecting like falling dust were the flakes of cold icicles. Just in time before the time was deemed to be a dry season, but the scattering particles of white seemed to assure the essence of water. A soft hissing in the air, the sound merely echoed the invisible walls of matter out in the open. But the freezing temperatures could only keep out so much; keeping the friendly animals from hunting, keeping the colorful buds of spring from bloomingâŚ
Tasting the dry air, a soft puff of frosty air escaped the lips of many who were outside. Heavy clothes are able to keep only so much of the dreaded temperature out. Yet as the day drew on, there just seemed to be an even more painful chill awaiting for everyone. Tucking a dark stray hair from his face, the rather tall man closed his eyes for only a moment. Taking in his surroundings while staying on the side of the road. Markets were closed, the sun was dying, and the air was growing sharper and thicker. But he knew it was alright and would always be okay. At least in the familiar warmth of the one place, he called home. Opening his murky eyes, the scenery blurred for a moment before it came into contrast. Inhaling, he merely exhaled as he stood up and started walking down the street. The villagers walked by minding their own business as he passed by them. Pulling the clothed mask back over his lips, he was able to keep part of his lower face from being bitten by the cold. A billowing cloak hiding more than meets the eye.
Getting to the outskirts of the town, he stopped once he reached his destination. Tossing his head from side to side as a habit, he sighed to himself because he knew the consequences if he didnât deal with it now. Looking back at the dark building, he took a step forward and opened the door. Bending down to get through, he closes the door behind him and stands up. Listening closely, he heard some metal clanking in another room, indicating there was someone else in the building. Shoulders relaxing, he took off his shoes and heavy cloak before walking to the sounds. Examining the hallway he crossed as he was pulling off his worn and torn gloves. Pictures seemed to settle around on a few shelves, even small knick-knacks, and items that looked ordinary. Ill-magical. Lips upturning a bit at this, he turned his gaze back to the light that the room in front of him held. Taking a quiet step inside to peer in, noticing the other individualâs attention was elsewhere. Reaching out, not even the small mouse sound made him stop from pulling them right up to his own body. Resting his forehead against their shoulder, he felt them tense up at first before the sudden sting of a hand smacked against his forehead. Giving a small huff, he stood up straight to let the smaller being turn around in his arms. Clear now that the woman stuck in his embrace was flustered and angry. Her brows furrowed as he noticed her lower lip was jutted out a bit, almost as if she was pouting but not quite. Tilting his head to the side, all he did was give a small smile. Knowing the effect, he felt her soften up against his arms before he was allowed to continue what he wished. Upset though that she turned her attention back to the food, he understood that there were other priorities to be held first and foremost. Gaze over her head, he then rests his head on her shoulder as he blew a soft breath against her ear. Seeing her freeze up in her actions widened his smile even more. He loved each reaction, each move she made against him when he knew she enjoyed it. Bringing her waist closer to his, he rested his lips right underneath her jaw for a moment before pulling away. Peering up at him, he then knew what look she gave him and let go of her. Kissing her head, he let her work in the kitchen as he went to the bedroom.
Dressed for bed and making sure all the windows were shut and locked, he ran a hand through his dark hair before deciding to lie down. Keeping single candle lit, he counted the number of blankets before getting under one of them. Sighing as he was finally able to rest. Feeling the mattress sink from his frame, just the fabric molding to his form made him feel wonderful to just be lying down. As he kept silent to himself, the squeaks of the floorboards made him continue to keep his eyes closed. Each sound, each rustle and a small clip of movement he was able to listen to made him enjoy the small lie. Keeping to himself, the only reason he opened his eyes was the sudden feeling of another form on top of him. Peering down, he saw the small woman had climbed into bed as well; but rather right under his shirt on top of him. Reaching up, he rested a hand on the small of her back as he gave another smile. Enjoying the moment of just silence, of the warmth of another body right next to his. Closing his eyes once more, he tilted his head back to rest against the board of the bed. Feeling the small form on him move and shift, he sighed and shifted to let her rest easier only to feel her move up. A bit confused, he was going to open an eye till he felt a soft sensation right under his chin. Letting out a soft snort, she looked up at him confused until she let out a small sound. Their positions switched, her eyes were widened by the surprise of his movement.
He turned his gaze down to her as he glanced down, noticing the shirt was going to stretch if she stayed there. Sighing, he picked her up with an arm as he slid the shirt over his head and tossed it to the side. Peering back down, he set her down carefully before he placed a gentle kiss on her exposed collarbone. Hearing her breath hitch for a moment, he placed another kiss right on the side of her neck. Her jawline, cheek, the shell of her ear, then back down to her shoulder; anywhere exposed for him to place his lips on was where he deemed fit to kiss. Feeling a slight tug on his hair, his eyes narrowed a bit as he then grazed his canines against her nose. Teasing her for a moment, he watched as her eyes lit up as she let out a soft laugh. The small giggles she gave off as he proceeded to lightly drag his teeth across her neck and shoulder. Continuing these movements, each sound he heard her make made his chest feel lighter and himself rather happier. Eyes softening at her form, he then leaned his head into her hand that held his cheek. Watching her for a moment, his eyes widened for a moment as he felt her initiate a kiss. Rather shocked by her timid nature, he accepted it and then carefully pushed her down. Sliding his lips away from hers only to trace them along the contours of her body. Moving parts of the fabric around as his lips stopped at the exposed side of her stomach. Hands resting on her waist, he turned his gaze up at her then to her side as he listened to her breathing. Chuckling softly, he then brought the covers over the both of them as he claimed her lips once more. The gentle warmth she gave off something he was wishing to take, wishing to make his own after being outside for so long.
Hands sliding down her hips, he kept his lips right back under her rib cage before he pulled away. A rather benevolent smile on his lips as the moonlight played tricks with the shadows of the night outside of the blanket. Head tilted to the side with curiosity, the woman kept her lips sealed at the moment. Her breathing was slow despite the rush of blood flowing through her body, the heat warming up between the two as he rested his form on top of her. No words needed to be spoken as he slid his lips right back over hers, bringing her closer and closer till there was no more space left between them. Not even oxygen could pass through as their hands were holding onto each other; each touch of a finger sending a jolt through both of their spines. Taking a quick intake of air, she pulled away from the passionate touch of their lips, unable to handle it anymore. The sudden rush of blood pumped through her as she held onto some strands of his dark hair. Letting his lips trail back over her jawline, her head rolled back against the mattress as her eyes closed shut. Enjoying the sweet sensation, it seemed to drag them both closer to each other through the chill of the night. The slight nip of the cold air was unable to mark either of them as they both found each other in the otherâs embrace. Skin to skin, the gentle yet hot warmth surrounding them pulsing through the air. Limbs entangling as their lips continuously met over and over again.
A night full of what was merely forgotten, rekindled and birthed out a new warmth that cradled in the mantle. The shadows danced along the walls that surrounded the two, motioning the new time of the day. Yet this didnât seem to affect the two as they laid there in each otherâs embrace. Head resting on his shoulder, the small female laid curled upright against the male. His hand was on the small of her back to keep her close, to keep her warm, to keep her safe from all those outside in the world.
