★ How I got into Thsc?

So.. I knew about Henry Stickmin before the 6th part Completing the Mission (CtM), aka when they were just flash games.

My first ever contact with Henry Stickmin was coming across a yt video of someone playing Stealing the Diamond (StD) back in... I believe 2016? 2017? That video was posted in 2016 and appeared in my recomended from what I remember. And at some point I also saw a video of the same someone playing Fleeting the Complex (FtC). They did play Infiltrating the Airship (ItA) too but I don't remember much about that video,same with Escaping the Prison (EtP).

I liked the series.. but I don't remember what my thoughts were about it except remembering what happened in the games (Henry stealing a diamond, Henry going into a gang's ship for the goverment, Henry going to jail where he befriended Ellie and that's kinda it). The only small thing I do remember is that I shipped Henry and Ellie (Rosemin) at the time (I don't anymore), well the guy in the video shipped them too.

Fastforward to 2020. Found out about Thsc a few days after release, I didn't have a pc at the time so I watched the walkthrought on yt.

Fastfoward again but shorter to around nov 2020. What actually got me be interested in Thsc is the fan base. Basically with how much fan art's, animations and everything being going on, idk how exactly but it just made me like Thsc even more.

And I started noticing other characters now, like...Charles. I started imagining a small au where he survived VH ending but ends up with ammesia.

★ My Thsc fan art journey

Beforehand... I did draw some things, but I wasn't that good at it. When I tried drawing this ammesia Charles au, I had no idea this will be just the beginning.

I was also in the mood of trying new drawing programs so I tried IbispaintX (left) and Sketchbook (right). But Ibis was more easier to use so I stuck with it.

And from there I started making more fan art's, like Reg and RHM... and later on Dave, Rupert, Burt and Sven.

I was posting my stuff mostly on insta because there were a lot of Thsc artists on there, at the time. I also posted some of them here on Tumblr but I didn't have as much activity so I left tumblr in 2021.

In 2023 tho... I had some frustrations with lineart witch led me to lose motivation in both drawing and Thsc. But I still had Thsc in my heart cuz I was doing stuff like this for no reason..

Fastfoward to aug 2025, I was away from home and was reading fanfictions out of boredom, started looking back at one of my Thsc fanfics (The Beloved Ones)... then somehow I wanted to try again (drawing).

The Beloved Ones is a toppat!Dave and Rupert au idea from 2021, so my first comeback fan art was with them.

Procreate had better lineart stabilisation which helped a lot, so most of my 2025 Thsc fan arts were made in there. But after getting more comfortable, I came back to IbispaintX because familiarity.

One random day I thought of posting a Dave doodle in here for funsies and got some actual activity. That's how I decided to post on tumblr again. And now it became my fav platform to post because It doesn't have stupid limitations like twitter does.

Inspirations

I created Austin in 2021. What motivated me to do so is seeing a popular oc during the thsc glory days on Instagram, and thought I wanna make an thsc oc too!

Said oc had a ponytail and ngl I wanted to make Austin have a ponytail too but... my paranoid 2021 ass though I'll get accused of copying (yeah I know I'm stupid) so... I kinda made his ponytail hidden...

But now (2026) I said fuck it and gave Austin a visible ponytail.

As y'all can see, Austin's hat design is bee themed. Since this was almost 5 years ago (Austin's birthday is 19 july, aka his creation day) I have to remember...

From what I can recall, I think I liked a game with bees back then??

Also during that time, I was watching Mii deleted you. One of the characters from there is named Austin and I really liked that name. So I named the bee boi... Austin.

Austin is not like Austin from mii deleted you, it's just the same name! Although, they do have a few things in common. Like the fact that they didn't have friends growing up, no one understood them, they got punished for feeling like they did (Austin for hating everyone cuz of what they did to the world, my Austin for not wanting to be like his rich family expected him to be).

But in a way, they both don't like how society is in general, but in different pov's. Austin's perspective is more about the world, while my Austin is more about... the people. Or something like that.

Design

For his design I though of simply doing a toppat with a bee themed hat. This was 2021 I don't remember much...

No I'm serious I don't remember exactly why I made the boi bee themed, wish I did.

Mick🧱

Inspirations

Mick is more recent, in late 2025.

It started from the fact that I needed a character for a Rupert toppat spy au. As in to be his guide to show Alan (Rupert's toppat alias for that au) the ropes.

After playing around with creating a nickname, I ended up with 'Mick with a Brick'. And then I thought... I can make this guy brick themed!

The reason I made Mick be insane by personality is to be contrary to Rupert's calm. Mick is not just insane tho, but also a good friend. And that's what triggers a conflict within Rupert, between gov and toppats, sides etc-add Dave being a toppat recruit and yeah.

But later on I came with another (and better imo) toppat Rupert au. And also made a headcannon about a division known as the 'Toppat mountain division'. So it takes place in said division instead of the Airship/Toppat Orbital Station. Plus I think the Dave being a toppat recruit reveal is more dramatic and interesting for Rupert's character, cuz he doesn't find out early like in the toppat spy au one.

Same as the old au, Mick (now a member of the mountain division) becomes Rupert's guide and friend. But no more spy secrets cuz in this version, Rupert gets captured during a mission by the mountain toppats, gets recruited later on for his skills and eventually accepts for survival.

But then I ended up liking Mick a lot more. So now I use him everywhere, not just for toppat Rupert au's! And expanded him too, backstory, friend group (I created 3 minor oc's just to make a friend group for this guy-). I also made Mick friends with Austin simply cuz why not.

Design

Basically it's brick themed, as in a top hat with a brick like pattern. I drawed him with a scarf twice before adding it permanently cuz I he looked good in it.

In his prototype design, Mick used to have a brick sticker on his top hat, but I scrapped it.
